Maria quietly listened until Hannah Woods finished talking. She didn’t feel good either.
“I don’t know what’s going on with Lucy. I think she might be dealing with some mental health issues. I just called her mom and suggested she take her to see a therapist.”
Then Hannah suddenly turned to Maria, eyes heavy. “Honestly, Lucy’s not a bad person.”
Lucy really needed emotional support now. Hannah wanted to stand by her, just like Lucy once had her back.
Maria offered her a soft smile, her voice gentle. “I believe that. Lucy’s always been that kind, simple girl... she’s just sick lately. She’ll bounce back once she gets better.”
Hannah’s eyes turned red before she squatted down and buried her face in her hands, finally letting the tears fall after holding it in so long.
