Crystal didn't know what was wrong, one minute they were reading the map and the next she found herself being flung away by the force of the explosion.
She covered her ear as she tried to clear out the loud ringing that was resounding there.
Once she was settled she looked around her surroundings to assess her situation as the dust from the explosion had not settled.
As she was looking around, her eyes paused on a familiar yet unfamiliar that was lying on the rubble and her heart skipped a beat from fear.
She got up as quickly as she could not knowing if he was dead or not. Her fear reached another level when she saw that he wasn't responsive but she later heaved a sigh when he suddenly coughed.
She caught herself when she thought of the fact that she had been so scared for a stranger that she didn't really know and didn't know of she could trust.
Her face became red in embarrassment as she thought of what she had just done but before she could think further on the matter, she heard a footstep from the direction the explosion came from.
She helped to sit up after he came to before she finally looked towards the direction that she heard the ounds from previously.
A middle aged man suddenly walked in with an entourage of what she could only describe as bodyguards. The middle aged man was tall but somewhat thick. He also had an abundance of white hairs on his head that did not suit someone of his age but who was she to judge.
Growing up here, she found that what you see might not be the truth. A 20 something looking man can be 500 years and that in itself is very scary as the magic used to maintain beauty was said to be possessed by the most sinister people since it was forbidden magic.
The man had a sinister air about him and the way he glared at her sent shivers through her spine and not the harmless or s****l kind.
He stared at her with so much disgust and disdain that she couldn't help but re-question if she had ever offended him before.
"You little weasel, you sure can hide very well. If it wasn't for that massive surge in power, I wouldn't have realized that my little niece was hiding amidst a bunch of commoners" he said.
Crystal just stared at him in confusion, not understanding what he was prattling on about.
"What do you mean little niece? And what is this you are saying about me hiding and living amidst a bunch of commoners" She said confusedly.
Crystal was stressed and tired as this was not how she expected her eighteenth birthday to go. She had plans of coming to school , finishing up lectures before going back to celebrate it on her own but now all this was happening.
First it was a handsome youth that claimed to be her guardian and now it was her supposed uncle that could possibly be trying to kill her. Could this day get any worse?
"I have introduced myself already but if you don't understand then it's your cup of tea. All I know I that you have to die here as prolonging your life is futal for all human race" He said before
He suddenly stretched forth his hand to her and a black fireball emerged from it. Before she could process what was happening the fireball started rushing towards her and she could only close her eyes and wait for impact.
She waited for awhile but she still didn't feel anything so she opened one eye and peeked ut what she saw knocked the air out of her.
Aiden had rushed before her and taken the brunt of the hit. He started checking her from head to toe to see if she also got hit. When he saw she wasn't he heaved a breath of relief before coughing out blood.
"A..Aiden, Oh my. No" She said as she stared at Aiden as he continuously coughed up blood.
Aiden suddenly slouched an fell to the ground while still in her arms. Crystal could do nothing but stare at the body that was becoming lifeless in her hands and all the blood that kept coming out of it.
"Oh what a stupid act, it won't stop you from dieing either way because I will kill you too." Her uncle said.
Crystal just stayed still and unresponsive as she stared at Aiden's body. She didn't get why she felt a very strong connection to him. She never thought it would hurt this way to see someone you just met slowly slip away in your arms.
She slowly sunk into grief and despair as the world became dark and grey. She lost herself in her world as that scene played in her head over and over again. And then came the RAGE.
Crystal stood lost in herself but she still had the instinct to gently drop Aiden on the floor before she turned into face the intruders.
"You shall pay for what you have done. I will not spare any single one of you. I will destroy you till I'm able to drink your blood and eat your flesh." She said in an intimidating voice before she started floating in the air.
Her 'Uncle's' eyes widened in fear and shock as he didn't expect her to be this powerful and terrifying.
Crystal didn't care about what they were feeling as all she was out for was blood, and blood she got.
Everyone that came in with her supposed uncle instantly got turned into mush by an unexpected hurricane that appeared out of nowhere.
It was a very gruesome scene for a that was involved but crystal had a smile on her face throughout.
The wind died down a bit and all that was left of the scene was her uncle standing in a pile of mush while shivering. She had save her uncle for last as she wanted to make him die a slow and painful death.
Crystal focused on him and the wind picked up again but this time it only brought him towards her and it didn't pulverize him.
"Please don't kill me. I am sorry for what I did I don't want to die." He begged while shivering with all his might.
He had never expected that she would be this powerful. If he had known, he would not have tried her at all.
"You are sorry? Well it's too late for that" She said before she watched as the wind Tor him apart bit by bit.
His screams echoed through the halls of the school that had become totally empty at one point but crystal didn't even flinch.
When his screams finally stopped, what remained in his place was charred flesh and broken bones.
With everything, crystal had lost herself in grief and despair with no way back. The wind became bigger and everything thing around her started collapsing little by little.
Darkness
Despair
A warm hand?
She turned around to see that Aiden had crawled towards her and was holding on to her leg.
He was saying something inaudible at first both when she registered it, her eyes widened.
"We are connected through a bond and with it I can't die."
MATE.
