“Do you think she was telling the truth?” Declan asked from his seat at the council table. He and Eavha had arrived early for the meeting so Keir could tell them what he’d heard.
“I don’t know.” Keir rested his head in his hands and leaned forward in his seat. “I want to trust her.”
“Then do.” Eavha leaned back and crossed her arms. “It’s not that hard. I didn’t trust her once. I told her I wasn’t sure I believed her story about Iskalt, and I have regretted it every day since. Tierney deserves our faith, brother.”
“But why?” Declan asked, earning him a sharp look from Eavha. “Has she been with the Grima court since she left us? What kind of lies have they filled her head with?”
