Chapter 22
“You know, Mike, I was surprised that you wanted to meet with me.”
Sara Burnes had climbed the ladder in the PAG faster than most. According to what Mike knew, she was a mover and a shaker, and wasn’t too interested in the status quo. Mike suspected she wanted to make a name for herself. She wanted a power play. She was a good candidate for what Mike was looking for. More importantly, as Mike reminded himself grudgingly, she was probably the only person in PAG that he had any real rapport with. There would be no do-overs here.
“Our departments don’t normally come in close contact with one another,” she said as she tucked in her skirt and sat down across from him. “At least, not until recently.”
Sara was beautiful and classy. That probably had a disarming effect on most men.
