Jessica's POV:
My feet just slowly carried me to the path that leads into the woods. The images just flowing through my brain, the tears rolling down my face, the numbness that took over my entire body. I don’t know how long I walked, but when I came to I don’t know where I am. It started to rain hard soaking me in seconds.
I also lost my flip flops along the way. Drenched and lost I turned back trying to find a path or indication of where I am or if I’m close to the house. I wander back the way I though I came. I was getting even more lost. So I just plopped myself under a tree sulking and soaked. I cried again just thinking how everything was going well and then my luck had to change.
I’m the unluckiest girl in the world for what’s happened to me.
Then I noticed a bluish light floating around. It looked pretty cool and then it came towards me. It floated away but then stopped coming back. Does it want me to follow it? It bobbed up and down as if it was telling me yes. I stood up and followed it. Within fifteen minutes it led me back to the house and the blue light went back into the forest. I smiled. Thank you. It brightened and then dimmed at my thank you.
Then people rushed out of the house with concerned looks on their faces. Guilt filled my heart. But then I was pulled into the tightest hug. This kept repeating with everyone. They were all pried about me. I could with the tightness of their hugs and how they spoke to me. Even Elias who normally teases me seemed worried. That certainly says something.
Evan's POV:
Jessie has left to take a phone call and we’re all left in the hallway after Annabelle had to say it.
“Annie you need to watch what you say around her. She is not apart of our world. She doesn’t know about all the things we know.” Adam explained to his sister.
“Adam, you don’t feel the feeling I got off of her. It seemed really weird, but very powerful feeling. You should not doubt what I felt from her.” Annabelle spoke a little frustrated.
“What do you mean auntie Belle?” I asked curiosity getting the better of me. Auntie belle sighed and ran her hand through her platinum blonde hair.
“When I looked in her eyes I swear that I felt this overwhelming power. I don’t know exactly how much, but I felt it. It’s very curious as to why she has such a power if she is only human,” auntie Belle stated.
“Delilah.” The word popped right out of Daniel’s and David’s mouth at the same time.
“Why does that name sound so familiar?” Auntie Belle asked aloud.
“We don’t know much about the person herself. She became a really good friend to us. She was Jessie’s mother.”
“Was?” Auntie Belle questioned.
“Yes, Jessie is reeling from the death of most of her family, though the question is is what she heard or even saw that day. Ever since that day she has been mute. But Delilah is just as mysterious as that girl. She loved that girl and chose to make us her guardians if something were to happen to her. But she never told us a single thing about herself. It was all about Jessica,” Jeremy said.
“Do you guys remember what Jessie said during the first dinner we had here?” Anthony asked.
“Yeah that was kind of strange. I mean when we first got here we felt we needed to steer clear of that tower. It felt dangerous,” Damon said.
“I felt the same when I caught a glance at the tower, but you’re saying Jessie actually felt something from that tower?” Aunt Belle asked.
I remember that night she said that. I felt that same power coming off of Jessie. I thought she was playing innocence because I could feel it, but I know now she doesn’t know about the power coming off of her.
It makes me hate her even more. She’s just too naive about what’s going on. She was also pulled into this world not realizing she could be put in danger.
I know these guys mean well, but I think it’s a bad move for them to be her guardian. She shouldn’t even be here.
Damien came in from blowing off some steam in the training room. He looked worried.
“Guys, do you know where Jessie went?” Damien asked.
“She went out back to take a call. Why?” Daniel asked and everyone. I mean everyone in that moment knew, as soon as Damien held up her phone in his hand and everyone turned absolutely pale.
“You do realize she can’t even speak, so how can she even think about answering a call?” I asked in a mocking tone.
“Evan!” My father exclaimed. “This is not the time for your snide remarks. We need to find Jessie.” Adam scolded me.
Elias POV:
“Evan, we all know you don’t like Jessie, but this is really no time for this,” I heard Anthony chastise his brother.
“What’s going on?” I asked coming down the hallway, coming into this conversation.
“Elias, it seems Jessie’s gone missing,” my brother said concern coloring his voice. I perked up concerned.
We all moved quickly to the back door going in search of Jessie.
It had been hours since we had started the search for Jessie. We covered a lot of ground, but still no sign of her. As it started to rain we were back inside the house watching both the back and front of the house for Jessie.
Annabelle's POV:
That blue light belongs to a blue fairy. Normally they don’t help humans. So why do I see one leading Jessica to the edge of the forest. Jessica looks like she’s been crying. She looked like hell and had this numb look on her. Like someone had just killed her puppy.
I turned toward the blue fairy and it thanked her. Who is this girl and how can she see the fairy? The fairy left out sight.
“Guys she just came out of the forest,” I said. The guys literally running to the back door. I moved out of the way letting them out the door.
These guys were so worried about her and for some reason she keeps drawing me in. I can’t tell if it’s whatever is coming off of her or if it’s those blue eyes of hers. So much sweetness fills them.
I could see the guilt in her eyes from making the guys worry about her. This girl is quite intriguing but is also hiding something from the rest of them. I can see the terror in those icy blue eyes of hers.
