Jessica's POV:
D’Angelo meeting my sister was the worst mistake to ever happen but then again so wasn’t he.
I could still feel his hands on me at times even though he wasn’t even touching me. I shivered at the thought that he had touched me with his murderous hands.
I grabbed my phone and stuck it in my pocket. I made my way downstairs feeling the need for ice cream.
The only problem with trying to reach for the bowls was that I had to climb onto the counter. I wasn’t all that tall.
I was starting to climb onto the counter when someone came up behind me and pulled two bowls down.
I turn and am met with a pair of those chestnut colored eyes. For a guy who looked like he was in his thirties he was very handsome and for some reason drawn to those chestnut eyes.
“Your really short,” Elias stated. I glared at him. He’s f*****g gigantic, I just look short to him. I’m average height.
“Awe you look like a little puppy,” he said in a baby voice. I know I couldn’t do much, but I punched him in the stomach as hard as I could. But he caught me by the wrist holding it gently but firmly in his hand.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you little lady,” Elias warned gently. I looked into his chestnut colored eyes.
I don’t know how long we stood standing there staring at each other, but then someone cleared their throat and we both pulled apart. He moved away from me. I blushed furiously.
In the doorway with his arms crossed was Damon. His devilish smirk just said it all. He. Saw. Everything. My blush spread through my entire face, neck, and the top of my ears.
Dammit I’m gonna have to beg him not to say a word. So instead of just standing there I went into the freezer for the cookies and cream ice cream that I had made.
The freezer air seemed to cool me down. I stood there for a minute, then I grabbed the container of ice cream.
Leaving the freezer and setting the container next to my bowl on the counter realizing he pulled two from the cupboard. I turned my head to face raising an eyebrow in the process.
“What? I wanted some ice cream, too.” He stated. I rolled my eyes and grabbed two spoons and an ice cream scoop from the utensil drawer.
It was silent in the kitchen except for the excessive thumping and scooping and clattering noise from me scooping ice cream from the container.
I put the ice cream away, when I was done. I took a spoon and my bowl and left. I took it back to my room where I just sat at the desk reading and eating.
Jaime's POV:
He was supposed to be here by now. He called earlier saying he’d be here by noon. He said he had some news about my family since mom took me away.
I was being shaken awake hearing my name being called.
“Jaime,” the voice softly calling me. “Jaime,” The soft voice called again.
“Noooooooooo,” I groaned dragging it out slowly.
“Sweetie, we gotta go. You remember me telling you about the trip we’re going to take? Well we have to leave soon. I need you to get up.” Mom coaxed me awake. I sat up rubbing my eyes. I got up and went to the bathroom to shower and anything else. I put on makeup. My eyelids had a light green hue. Mascara and eyeliner lining the bottom eyelid. Light pink blush on my cheeks, and lip gloss on my lips.
I changed into my white, off the shoulder crop top and blue jeans, short shorts. Slid my feet into Teva flip flops. I put my hair up in a fountain ponytail.
Mom said I didn’t need to take anything else with me, I jumped into the front passenger seat of our now full Toyota Camry.
We ended up driving all the way to New Mexico. And now we are staying in a condo my mom rented and it was fully furnished. Mom had this condo for a while now. I knew about it and have been here a few times.
I haven’t heard from Jessica or aunt Delilah. I wonder how that b***h is doing. She and D’Angelo were dating, but behind her back he was also with me. He told me she was nice, but I was better for him and he just didn’t want to be cruel and let her go just because she didn’t have s*x with him.
Don’t worry though I was giving him what he needed. I know he loved me. He was too good to give up. Even after Jessica found out he was cheating on her with me.
She is truly worthless. I thought we were close, but I really didn’t like her and I never stood up for her because she deserved what she got. Miss goody two shoes. I don’t think so. I believe she was a conniving little b***h that deserved what was coming to her.
A knock on the door alerted me. I ran the door open to the sexy man I’ve been waiting for. Though he had a sad look in his eye.
“I have something to tell you. It’s about your family. And Jessica is responsible for what happened,” he said. I let him in. And by the end of what he told me I broke down crying. Then I vowed to hurt Jessica for what she’s done.
Jessica's POV:
I felt a chill run down my spine. Last time I felt this D’Angelo was involved. Maybe he is involved.
I’m shopping for school clothes at this very moment. The only male that came was Jeremy, but come to find out they had a visitor and she was accompanying me today for specific reasons.
Yesterday afternoon:
“Come on Adam. I know what you need and I will do it if you help me out,” a female voice rang throughout the house. I just so happened to be in the basement finishing folding laundry and putting the in baskets.
The talking or more like arguing continued. I however chose to ignore it. I opened the little doors to the pulley elevator system. I set the baskets in and pulled myself and them up to the second floor. I grabbed one basket set it in front of the door and knocked.
It was Rachel’s room so I ran into the elevator and closed the door and pulled up to the fourth floor. I opened to be greeted by Damien.
“Want some help?” He asked. To be quite honest I was shocked. I slowly nod my head. He helped me out and I grabbed one basket. It was Anthony’s. Damien had Evans.
I knocked on the door. Anthony opened the door and gave me this dazzling smile. His green eyes lit up like an emerald. So beautiful. Without realizing it I smiled right back at him.
Let me tell you I’ve been getting quite comfortable and happy here. But I haven’t smiled at all. So when I realized that Anthony smiled wider, I realize I was smiling, but it felt nice to smile. His smile just dazzled me making me feel so happy. I handed him his basket.
“You have such a beautiful smile,” he says after setting his basket down and holding my face. He smiled so gently. Then like all things the mood was ruined.
“Please Adam? I know about…” I turned and saw a woman. She was so much like Adam. In looks that is. But she seemed a little temperamental. She must be his little sister.
“Well, hello there. Aren’t you a doll,” she said as she got close to me. A doll? Is she out of her mind. Everyone around me though were agreeing her.
“Annabelle, this is Jessica the one I was telling you about. She is under the care of David and Daniel. They were really good friends of her mother. Jessica, this is my pushy little sister Annabelle.” Adam introduces us, but she was scaring me because she was looking at me as if I was a doll to play with. I just nodded. Then I fled. I jumped in the elevator before anybody could reach me and I went down to the basement.
I needed to get to my safe place before she finds me. I ran upstairs and was about to head into the kitchen. Though I ran into someone. That someone was David. He stood before me looking quite surprised. Daniel was right next to him.
“Just the girl we were looking for,” Daniel smiled my way. His smile relieved me and without a second thought, I smiled again. For a moment they were shocked then they smiled back at me.
“Since your starting school soon tomorrow Jeremy will take you school shopping. We would take you, but tomorrow we have other responsibilities,” Daniel said.
”Oh Jessica,” Annabelle called in a sing song voice. I paled. The men turned to see Annabelle marching our way with a grin plastered to her face. I hid behind David. He looked at me and then looked back at Annabelle. I felt like a helpless child because I’m unable to speak.
“Why’d you runaway Jessica?” Annabelle asked me still smiling. It was absolutely creepy. I just tilted my head to the side. I was wearing a pair of jean shorts and a spaghetti strap pink tank top with a little skirt at the bottom and around the top.
I reached into my shorts pocket and pulled out my phone. I typed into it really fast.
“Not to be rude and please don’t take offense, but you freak me out.” My phone spoke for me as I’m still hidden behind David.
What I didn’t expect to hear was laughing. To be more precise, I peeked from behind David and saw it was Adam.
“I’m sorry, but at least I’m not the only one who sees that,” he sputtered between laughter. Anthony and Damon were also laughing. Evan wasn’t, but then again I have never seen him smile. Must be a killjoy at parties.
“Oh man my brothers find me creepy already and now this girl. What are you guys sensitives?” She asked and the laughter stopped and everyone stood staring wide eyed at her. No it was at what she said.
What broke the silence was my phone ringing. Who the hell would be calling me? I looked at the caller ID and Jaime’s name was on the screen. I looked up at David and then ran outside. I answered.
“Jessica, I heard what happened. I will never forgive you because it’s all your fault slut. I hope your happy at my suffering, but I will be back for you and I will make you suffer worse making you wish for death. I’ll call you another time. Bye bitch.” She didn’t even ask if I was okay. My hands were shaking and tears sprung in my eyes. I opened my mouth and silently screamed.
I dropped my phone in the grass. It was cloudy today, but it was quite humid out. All I could think about was that day. The screams, the blood, moms lifeless eyes.
