The Dark Secret

The next morning, she wakes up in her soft princess bed. She is still adjusting to this world’s climatic conditions and feels exhausted. She has her own maids now to work for her. Her life is like a dream and she doesn’t want this dream to break.
She gets up from the bed and gets ready to roam around in the castle in full excitement wearing a long pretty peach gown from her new wardrobe. This was a dream come true.
The six body guards who were supposed to walk two in front of her, two behind and two beside were put back by Rose as they blocked her path. She finally sees Cedric.
“Good morning my dear sister, hope you had a nice…..”
“Will I be sent back if I can’t do magic? She asks
“No, youuuu won’t be!” Cedric said in a confused tone.
“I actually love it here. I mean who doesn’t want to be a princess. Thanks, you came for me. Initially I thought it’s a set up but it’s not. I don’t wanna leave this place now but what about magic? I mean I am supposed to protect our kingdom. These people have faith on me I think…. They will hate me if they come to know about this...”
“Calm down Rose. You won’t be sent away. Actually you won’t be sent anywhere. The kingdom got back its princess after so long. I am afraid they won’t let you go anywhere. You are very much important person for all of us. I mean I am the heir to the throne but you too are important.”
“Really? You mean I am trapped in this castle?”
“Yes, you are not allowed anywhere out. But is castle is huge and you will get tired going around even once.”
“What!!! I’ll feel so bad if I can’t visit the village, it looks so beautiful from my window. It has been in my mind since I stepped my foot here for the first time. What the heck Cedric?”
“Language my princess! You need to learn to talk like a princess.”
“Yes indeed she does!” Says the king. The king here to meet his daughter with his advisor and others men.
This time Rose tells her father that she cannot do magic. He thinks about it for a moment and replies that it’s normal. Since she has been living on Earth for 18 human years, her powers must have been suppressed.
“Keep trying my dear.” he says before leaving. But this dirty secret of princess spreads out like fire. Now the whole kingdom knows that the princess cannot do magic.
There are rumors about her being wrong person everywhere. People think Cedric has brought someone else instead of the real Magical Princess as it is necessary for a Princess to know magic.
Every princess is a fairy. Rose is heart-broken now and nervous. She doesn’t know who to approach. Next day, while having bath in her bath tub, she asks her handmaid who is sitting on near the edge of the tub, pouring water on her back.”
“Do you think I will ever be able to do magic?”
“You may not know about this, but Gloria has modern cities too that don’t come under anyone’s rule. These cities have schools, colleges and training centers, shops, technology development labs and much more. Cities are mainly where the trade takes place. People wear modern clothes like the way you did when you arrived here. ”
“You mean jeans and tops”
“Yes”
“Which is our nearest city?”
“Zor- A city filled with magic.”
“Does it have a school or college?”
“Yes! One for each kind!”
“What do mean?”
“Fairies, warriors, super humans, witches & wizards all have different institutes for them where they are taught about their distinctive powers and skills.”
“Why do witches and wizards have their own institutes? Aren’t they bad?”
“Not actually! They are on our side to fight the evil with their dark magic. Only those, who are turned against, cause havoc.”
“And what about Elves? Don’t they have their own institutes ?”
“You do know few things princess, but not all. Elves don’t live with us. They live on our moon Rigel but they do visit us.”
“Do you think I can get my powers if I visit this city?”
“You need to go in a fairy college to know more about you.”
“But how can I take admission in Fairy College without fairy school?”
“You mean you wanna start from school, princess?” She laughs. “School is only till you are 18! Even the non-royal fairies go here.”
“You mean there fairies are born even outside the castle into the homes of common men?”
“Yes! Fairies can be born in humanoid families too.”
“Does anyone know if I ever possessed any sort of magical abilities?”
“The fairies have magic from birth, my princess but you were only a baby when you were taken to Earth. So no one exactly knows you had magic before or not!”
“You think there’s a chance for me?”
“May be! I don’t know. I am only a humanoid. And yes all Princesses are fairies but not all fairies are princesses.”
“Wow that’s great. Guess I am the only person who is princess but not fairy. I already am thankful for being a princess but don’t you think it would have been so cool if I could perform magic too?”
“The fairy colleges may be able to help you, but the king won’t let you leave the kingdom princess.”
Rose’s only friends here are the maids.
She feels hopeless and helpless.
“I really wish there was a way to find out more about me.”
