Bye, Bye Big Bro

1051 Words
Macy The morning my brother left for basic came way too fast. I was sad and having the most trouble out of all the sibling. Eden was acting heartbroken over Micha leaving. That is something I will have to ask her about later. With tears in my eyes, I hugged my brother goodbye once more. I was sad he was leaving, but also sad he would miss my 18th birthday and me getting my wolf. I just always assumed all my brothers would be there the day my wolf makes her appearance and I find my mate. “I love you, little Cece.” Cece was what Micha called me, since he could not say my name too well when he was little. There is only 11 months between me and Micha and we have been inseparable since before I could remember. This is like removing my left arm and hoping my body will heal with no scars. “I love you too, My Micha.” I felt sorry for Micha when he actually met his mate, or maybe I should feel sorry for his mate, because I will always be his number one girl. Speaking of, I hope he doesn’t meet her while he is away. It would be hard for him to concentrate on safety if his mate is nearby. “I want you to face time me on your birthday. I want to meet your wolf as soon as she appears.” “I will do what I can Micha, I will miss you so much. You stay safe over there and remember you are doing this to help humankind.” With that Michal wrapped me in a hug as I watched Micha walk away from the family. I am going to miss him so much. As tears fill my eyes, I find Eden is almost at inconsolable as I am. That is strange, seeing as they never really hung out much. Later that day I talked Eden into joining me on a trip to town to pick up some paper and stuff I will need to write to Sarah. I found out she was actually a new member of our pack and joined after she lost her parents in an attack on their pack just about a month ago. I could not imagine losing my whole family all at one time and my pack and having to start all over again. I hope I find some stuff in common to talk to her about. “Eden, why are you so broken over Micha leaving? That is just not like you. You and he hardly ever talk, I did not think you even liked him.” Eden looked at me with fresh tears in her eyes and said, “I am not sure, it was just like my heart walked out of my body and shattered on the floor when he was getting in his truck.” That strange, wonder if there could be something there. Eden does not turn 18 for another 8 months, so it will be a while before she can really feel a mate pull. I know sometimes when we grow up close to our mate; we have different reactions to the pull. ‘wouldn’t be something is Eden and Micha were mates after all.’ We finished our outing and grabbed a coffee at the local coffee shop, before we headed back to the pack house. It was great growing up with my best friend just a floor below my whole family. I kept an eye on Eden all night, as it seemed she was not copping with Micha’s leaving very well. I had the idea that we could have a girl’s night and camp out in the game and media room just us, veg out and pig out on junk food. No matter what I did, Eden was still so sad. I will defiantly need to mention this to her mom, so she can help keep an eye on her. Eden Oh, my Goddess, this hurts. I have never felt such pain and heartache in my whole life. When Micha got in his truck and closed the door our eyes met and I shattered. I do not know what is wrong with me, I mean yeah, we grew up together and were friends, but that was it. We never even really hung out with each other. I was Macy’s best friend, her ride or die with her till the end. Why was I so heartbroken over Micha leaving? Macy tried to cheer me up, we went to my favorite stationery store, ‘yeah I know I am a nerd’, but that still did not help. I picked up a few items and got some special paper. I would ask my dad if he could give me Micha’s name so I can write to him while he is gone, even if I don’t get his name, I will still write to him. I am so caught up in my thoughts, I don’t hear what Macy was telling me about Sarah. She seems excited about writing to her and hopes she can make her feel more welcome to the Pack. When we finished at the stationary store Macy suggested coffee. My heart still wasn’t in it, but I ordered my usual and joined her outside at a table to get myself under control. I don’t understand this feeling at all. We got back to the pack house an hour later, and Macy noticed I was still down. She suggested a girl’s night. Just the two of us, I was going to decline and just spend the night in my room sulking, but I thought I needed to get my mind off the ache in my chest. We set up a “camp”, so to speak, with an indoor fire to roast marshmallows and make s’mores, we had every sweet imaginable and all the junk food anyone would want on the floor around us. We watched every chick flick we would find on Netflix and tried to think of happy thoughts. I just could not shake this heartache. Maybe I will talk to my mom about it? I hope it passes soon. I don’t think I will survive if it keeps on like this.
