Coming outside into the fresh air had Nate filling his lungs with the promise of a good day. Last night was the best night’s sleep he had had since the day he found out about Hana. He hadn’t noticed how much the weight of his mate’s situation had been bearing down on him until he got this distance. A part of him twisted with guilt knowing she was still unsafe, but he had learned a long time ago how to do his duty no matter his feelings.
