Chapter 2

[14 years later] [Him] I attacked her. The beauty I have watched over for years will be scared of my wolf, but I had to. You may ask why I scared her to the brink of death. I had too, as a god I am obliged to look after my people so when a messenger travels to my kingdom with a message from the one and only fates. Saying it is my destiny to look after this fragile girl to care for her and to one day love her, but they wouldn’t be called the fates if they didn’t put an obstacle in one’s path to glory. No, I have to keep attacking my beloved soulmate for I am the key to a life forgotten.   I was told nothing else, only that I am the key, that I shall find out the day she unlocks all those memories of her past that will be the day I can take my love from the people that hurt her. I’ve put someone on earth to look after her yet he cannot get to close to her for that is forbidden.   These people who call themselves her pack, they are nothing but a spec in this endless universe. They think themselves so big yet they are powerless and I shall see to it that they be destroyed when her last memory is unlocked.   They shall suffer for how they have treated their goddess and queen.   [Her] Getting home that night wasn’t as bad as it usually is, I felt safer than usual like someone or something is looking after me yet there was still this feeling of darkness floating in the air, the shadows that clouded my mind was now out. I did not fear them for I was not scared but I felt safe amongst them.   So, for the first time in ages I fell into a deep slumber without a fear of the night for I felt content with this darkness clouding me.   That night I slept better than I have for a long time, even though I woke from a bad dream, a dream that felt more like a memory. Where a girl sat by a small water stream. She looked so happy, she mover her hand in the water watching the little fishes swim by. I smiled but then the horror happened. As she played in the stream two men emerged from the forest across from the stream. They were wearing pure black.   Skin as white as snow, eyes pale dull with no life, raven black hair and no emotion. Then a woman came running to the child just as the men started running towards them. She picked the child up and turned around as a black ball of smoke hurdled towards them hitting her between her shoulder blades making her fall to her knees. I ran to help them but couldn’t my hands went straight through them.   My emotions got the best of me when I saw what happened next. Tears started streaming down my cheeks as the men started hitting the woman and took the little girl away, then the shadows came.   This time the shadows left me with this memory like dream they didn’t take it away. They left me to try and figure this out on my own.   I sat up in bed for the rest of that night thinking of this dream it left me confused yet with a familiar feeling, a feeling that scared me and gave me comfort at the same time.   The next morning came faster than I thought it would, I was still trying to figure out why the dream felt so real when the sun started rising into the heavenly skies chasing the darkness away, the darkness I became familiar with a darkness that now comforts me and protects me.   School went the same as everyday getting bullied was part of my day and I got use to it. Yet today was different cause after school four wolves from school jumped out of the bushes near my house, they grabbed me dragging me to the forest where they beat me. A few more scars got added to the collection of blue, purple, yellow and black I already have. They beat me to the point where my voice would not work anymore, where my body felt no more pain, yet tears continued to stream down my cheeks and darkness threatened to take over, I didn’t fight the darkness I welcomed it with open arms.    I soon passed out going to a place unknown there was an open field with long grass and the most beautiful flowers of all colours, shapes and sizes. It felt peaceful unlike the life I was living in the real world, yet I don’t even know what this place is called. Maybe it’s a creation of my mind, a place where I could rest if needed, a place no one can harm me?   I laid down in the grass just staring up at the blue sky, not knowing how long I have been looking at the passing clouds when I felt a different presence among the peace.   I sat up straight looking at my surrounding only to find a man with dark hair and the most breath-taking eyes, so dark that they almost seem black yet you could see small specs of gold as if the where floating around in a pool of blackness.   “who are you??” I asked not knowing where my sudden courage came from. He did not answer yet his eyes seem to focus on me. It felt as if he was looking into my very soul.   “I am Hades the god of the underworld, I felt a presence in my kingdom a presence unknown and uninvited, I came to Elysium to see if I could find the cause of all this and found you. You do not belong here firstly because you’re not supposed to die yet and secondly you where not judged.” He explained leaving me with nothing to say even though my mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water.   “Then why am I here in this peaceful place if I should not be dead yet?” I asked not really knowing what else to ask.   “well Lilith it is not written in the book of death, you are not to die yet.” I understood what he said but it seemed hard to take in.   “Then how do I get back to my life?” I asked yet another stupid question.   “That little one is easy; I will send you back and so you will have no knowledge as to what happened here. You would only remember what happened before you died. You will remember what happened to you and you will feel well rested after awaking from your sleep.” With every word he says I am amazed of how he speaks. When he stopped it was like a trance broke and I came back reality, I nodded my head feeling slightly sad that I would not remember such a beautiful place yet I knew the importance of this place so I accepted that.   I sat down on the grass as instructed by Hades and then a black smoke evolved around me taking away the beautiful surroundings.   It felt like I was being lifted of the ground then thrown in to something and then the same fog over took my mind and I drifted off to a peaceful sleep.   It felt like eternity drifting in endless darkness when finally, this annoying beeping sound showed some light and I was finally able to open my eyes.   Upon seeing the world again for goddess knows how long I only saw a white room and a machine making the beeping noise.    The sound became louder and faster as panic entered my body allowing a dark cloud to take over my mind. This time I tried to fight the cloud and successfully won against this darkness.   Then four people came rushing in to the room dressed in all white clothing, they came to me and asked me a series of questions.   I didn’t understand their kindness cause if this were my pack I would be left for dead, not being taken care of like I am at the moment. Not long after a man walked in dressed in white just as the woman, he sat down in the chair across from my bed telling the woman that he would take it from here that they may go.   For a long while it was silence in the small white room until he got up and walked over to my bed sitting at the bottom near my feet.   “Hello there.” He said in a gentle voice as if not to scare me. I didn’t answer back not knowing if this were to be a trick my packs playing on me. “Don’t worry love no one will hurt you, now tell me what’s your name??”   I debated in not answering his question to just leave him the dark but decided against doing so. “They call me Lilith.” I answered his question.   He gave me a bright smile then going on to tell me some people of this pack found me laying on the ground out side the borders. Also informing me that this had happened over six months ago, that I’ve been in a coma like state for over half a year.  That is was like I was dead yet my heart still beat at its normal rhythm. Then waking up now with no memory of what had happened to me other than being grabbed by people.   I was dumb founded, the doctor said not to try and overload my memory by trying to recall what had happened that night, saying that I am still in a fragile state that I should rest for now and we will talk again when I feel better and might have one memory. I agreed to what he had said, though he did ask me from what pack did I came before landing on the door steps of the ‘Blue Moon pack’.   I told him off my old pack and what had happened to my mother when I was still very young. He listened carefully to every word that I said wrote it all down in a small note pad I had only noticed now. After telling him my whole story he sighed and closed his eyes as if thinking of something, he then mentioned that the Alfa and Luna of this pack would like to have a meeting with me, himself and the fellow people who had found my in such a bad state.   I didn’t agree to it just nodded my head in understanding, I know I can not say no seeing as the Alfa and Luna took me in and cared for my bloodied state when I was unconscious so knew better then to protest against them.   After all the questions and answers the doctor whose name I came to learn as Charl bid me goodbye and a well night rest, so I turned on my side and did just that I fell asleep as I closed my eyes knowing the day after would be torture. During the night I did not wake of a bad dream I did not fear the night as I have in the past, I was well rested the next morning. Waking up to a room lit by the sun and birds chirping friendlier than ever before.   Next too my small bed was a book placed with a note that read. ” Good morning dear Lilith,  I will come by shortly to see if you have awoken from your dream world. Please enjoy the book that I have placed for you until the hour of my return. Sincerely Charl.”   I smiled at the lovely taught, as I picked up the book, I noticed that it was a novel by none other than my favourite author Jane Austen yet it was one I haven’t read before by the name of ‘Pride and Prejudice’.   Still I smiled at the lovely taught and started reading the beauty written upon each page, every word sucking me deeper into the world of imagination. Out of nowhere a knock that came from the door which I answered with a simple come in.   Emerging from the door was a girl around my age with the most beautiful forest green eyes and sun kissed skin. She smiled at me giving a small wave, which I hesitantly returned.   “How may I help you??” I asked her.   “I actually wanted to ask you the same question, see I am one of the people who happened to find you that terrible night. I just wanted too see you awake and alive, I have been visiting you ever since we found you praying to the goddess that she may keep you amongst the living.” She answered leaving no room for complaint nor any argument.   I smiled so big that it felt like my cheeks where being ripped cause of the force.   “I’m doing just fine, thank you for your care I appreciate it unconditionally. May I ask how you found my that night I would like to try and restart my memory seeing as I only remember being dragged away by people then waking up here 6 moths later.” I asked knowing I shouldn’t be pushing myself this hard yet I had to know what had happened that dreadful night.   “We went to the water stream near our pack borders when we heard an ear-piercing scream, we did not know where it came from yet we did smell a lot of blood coming from the north side of our borders. So, when me and my friend Justin went too look for the source of the scream, we came across your body broken and bruised. We hurried you to our pack hospital and sending guards out on patrol looking for the awful monsters that could have done this to you, but they came back empty handed.” She finished off with a heavy-hearted sigh and a steady stream of tears running down her pink tinted cheeks.   I moved closer to her wrapping my arms around her feeling a strong need to comfort her during the pain she felt for me. She cried in my arms as I held her close to me trying to think of how I ended up on the northern side of this pack’s borders, yet nothing came back to me so when she stopped crying, I let go so she could dry off her tears. She said sorry for acting like that and I tried to assure her that it was nothing.   We talked for a little while longer until the door opened yet again and in came doctor Charl he said to the girl of which name I still do not know that she could visit me soon again but for now they have to run a few more tests to see if I am fit to get out of bed.   He sat on the chair once again and asked me how I’m feeling only noticing the book open on my little table after about a half hour later.   ” I see you have started reading the book I left you?” he said pointing at the novel. “Yes, I quite enjoyed the first few chapters before being disturbed yet I didn’t mind the visit from mm... what’s her name?” I asked cheeks turning ruby red with embarrassment.   He let out a soft chuckle then a crooked smile answering my embarrassing question. “You may call her Samantha she is my daughter.” He shocked me with the last confession, leaving my mouth hanging open.   I nodded in understanding.   Then before I knew it, all the tests where done and Apollo had already begun sending the sun away so that Selene could replace it with our beautiful moon. I was told that I would meet the Alfa and Luna of this pack tomorrow that I would be having that meeting we had spoken of the day before.   He bid me good night and a peaceful sleep walking out the door as he did the night before, with me falling asleep with no trouble yet this was not the peaceful sleep I had hoped for, yet it was a night full of nightmares that felt as if they could be memories.   It was of men dragging me into the forest late one evening then beating me without any cause or explanation. It was a recurring nightmare that night, something I would tell the doctor once I see him when the new morning begins.   There forth I had feared the night once more, the night that brought me restless sleep and fears of my dreams.   I awoke the next morning just as I did the one before, yet this time the sun hurt my eyes as if to punish me and the birds did not sing their lovely songs yet it was quiet.   There was no note next to my small bed only the amazingly beautiful novel from the day before. As I read the words one by one, they took all the bad taught away putting me in a kind of piece, yet that feeling was not long lived as there was a knock on the door to which I once again answered with a simple come in.It was not who I had expected to join me on this dreadful morning, who came to see me radiated power and strength he could only be the one and only Alfa of Blue Moon Pack and I already feared him to the depth of my soul for I would not know what he would do once he heard the truth about why my old pack treated me as I was treated.
