Like he said, he wouldn’t tell me anything about the meeting, nor mentioned a word about it during dinner. But he seemed in a good mood, sharing how he contributed ideas to the design of the house.
He didn’t even argue with me when I barely touched the food, so maybe it went well, or he was good at masking his emotions in front of my mother.
While Mom didn’t have a clue what the meeting was all about, we kept it that way.
“Ready?”
“For what?” My brows furrowed. I just finished brushing my teeth. My face was still covered with a mask. “Too early to go to bed, Spade, and I just woke up three hours ago.”
“Exactly. Let’s go to the office.”
I exhaled noisily. “Can we do it tomorrow? Whatever it is you’re planning to do? Unless it is about the meeting, then give me a minute.”
