“Come again?” I was already on my feet, chair squeaking. My heart began racing. “What do you mean she’s gone?
“We were just talking while shopping for some stuff until I said something that somehow confused her.” I heard the panic in her voice, which instantly ran chills through me.
“Then what happened?” I gestured to Wave to pay our bills. Instead of Robyn suggesting we go to the bar, I’d decided to try Maltese coffee.
“She just walked out of the shop. I thought she just needed some air. She hasn’t come back. I’m here looking for her. I called her phone, but she did not pick up.”
“Where are you? We’re coming. Don’t leave until we get there. We’re not far from the street bazaar.”
“Okay. I’m here at the small jewelry boutique. Hurry up, please?”
