SPADE
“Where the f**k is she?” I checked the time on my watch for the second time. She’d been out for ten minutes. What could possibly have taken her longer in the ladies’ room? If she just used my restroom, she didn’t have to fill in line.
Just two more minutes. I started counting in my head not to get annoyed as I waited at my desk with my arms crossed over my chest.
“f**k it.” I went outside my office, and her desk was untouched. She hadn’t come back.
She was probably with Piper, but it wasn’t like Robyn, who chatted during
work hours. She was efficient. That was what I liked about her.
“Piper.”
She startled from her work and looked up at me. “Sir?”
“Have you seen Robyn?”
“I thought she was with you.” Her eyebrows furrowed. “Wait. I saw her go to the ladies’ room minutes ago.
