Axel was soon returned to his cell with the advice he may as well get comfortable. Those words had felt like tiny cuts, slashing at the promise of freedom and his way back to Cassandra. He passed much of the time just staring at the door on the other side of the holding area. Every time it opened his heart filled with hope it would be Cassandra coming for him, coming to tell Axel everything was alright and how she forgave him for losing control like that.
