Chapter Thirty Six

Axel gathered Cassandra into his arms, rubbing his face tenderly against her cheek. He hadn't forgotten how Cassandra practically launched herself against him earlier and it made Axel feel warm and hopeful that his feelings were slowly being returned.

Cassandra inhaled a gasp when she felt the pressure of pointed teeth nip lightly across the tip of her ear. Axel dipped his fingers under the edge of Cassandra's jeans and caressed her back, running his tongue all the way down the edge of her ear before dipping it inside.

The alpha released a low moan of desire. Enough to make Cassandra so responsive, her body shuddered with every sweep of Axel's tongue against her smooth skin. Axel reached the lobe and pulled it gently into his mouth.

Cassandra fell limp in his arms when Axel picked her up, hitching her body higher with his mouth still fixed to Cassandra’s neck. The omega’s head fell back, giving Axel more access to the pulsing vein in her throat, quickly covering it with the wet promise of an open mouth.

Axel carried Cassandra through to the bedroom and laid her gently on her back. He blindly moved her knees apart with one hand while he suckled at the curve of Cassandra’s neck.

“Let me see you, Cas... all of you...” Axel breathed against her, tracing his fingers up and down the inside of Cassandra’s thigh. His hands were shaking, unable to control the need that crawled through his veins and made him want to lick his future mate all over.

“Axel…” Cassandra knew how different she looked. Even though she trusted Axel completely, she still wasn’t sure she was strong and brave enough to expose all her vulnerability like that.

“Cas, it’s okay,” Axel whispered, moving his mouth lower and smoothing his hand over Cassandra’s stomach when he pushed up her shirt. He could feel her tense beneath his palm. “Trust me…”

Axel slowly ran a trail of soft kisses all the way along Cassandra’s side and curled his tongue in sweeping lines that made her body rigid with anticipation. The tip of each searching stroke brushing the soft hair running down under the band of her jeans. “Just relax. I’m gonna take care of you, Cas.” Axel mumbled against the damp skin, forcing his tongue even lower.

Cassandra’s hips jerked up to meet the seductive thrusts, sensing her resolve fall away when Axel pulled gently at her jeans. They slipped down her legs and over her knees. Axel’s c**k was soon swollen with need when he inhaled a mouthful of omega pheromones. He couldn’t stop himself from clambering on top of Cassandra and hurriedly relieving her of her t-shirt as well.

Cassandra closed her eyes and let Axel soak in the sight of her naked body. Axel gasped at the pure beauty of it, spreading his palms over the curves of wide hips and shaking his head in appreciation of the perfection he was holding in trembling hands.

“Cas…” Axel breathed at last.

Cassandra felt a surge of something powerful flood through her when Axel seemed to whisper her name with awe. “You’re so beautiful.”

Cassandra finally looked up. Axel was propped over the top of her and holding himself up on his hands. He bent his head to press a soft kiss to her lips like he meant that with everything he had.

“Can I touch all of you?” Axel asked quietly, heart pounding relentlessly fast with the thought Cassandra might let Axel show her just how much he admired that perfect omega body. Cassandra didn’t answer. She was watching the movement of Axel’s hands while they ran over her chest and down towards her arousal. Axel watched Cassandra’s eyes flicker under dark lashes. “Let me, Cas…”

A lifetime of being told how little value she possessed left a deep mark. As wonderfully sweet and understanding as Axel was, he was still an alpha and Cassandra just assumed Axel could do whatever he wanted to her if they were mated. Axel wanting to spend any time giving Cassandra pleasure instead of taking care of his own needs was unexpected, to say the least. She could see Axel was desperate for relief but he still wanted to make sure Cassandra was satisfied first. It made her feel wonderful.

“Axel, you don’t have to do that for me.”

“Hush up. I told you, I don’t ever want you to think like that.”

Cassandra was about to protest again, but her words were soon swallowed by the sounds spilling from her mouth when Axel licked a line all the way down her stomach. Cassandra thought he was going to stop there, but Axel moved between her legs and she bit hard into her lip when Axel pushed one hand all the way up her thighs and carefully slipped her underwear off.

Cassandra held her breath.

Every muscle tensed while Axel waited over the top of her wetness with his mouth open, giving Cassandra one last chance to tell him to stop. Axel could see the deep blue shining out, watching him so closely he felt a shiver flow down his spine. He closed his eyes and sank down, sucking at it until his cheeks hollowed out.

Axel pulled noises from Cassandra’s lips she didn't think she was capable of making. He could feel warm slick slide over his hand while he moved his finger in gentle circles, smearing the oil across her skin and after a plea from the beautiful omega, he pushed one finger inside.

After drawing beautiful noises from his omega, Axel was desperate to push in more, but he didn’t want to hurt her and he wasn’t sure Cassandra could take much more. She was almost incoherent under Axel’s careful touches. So perfectly submissive, Axel felt his own d**k grow hard at the thought of Cassandra coming in his mouth. Axel pinned both of her arms above her head when Cassandra pushed her hips up, taking everything Axel had to give.

Axel continued to draw it inside his mouth while Cassandra murmured his name over and over again until her hips started to stutter. Axel was showering her with gentle encouragements, manipulating the place between her legs with his tongue.

Axel gripped Cassandra's wrists tight when he felt the first pulse of warmth spill into his mouth and the strong smell of omega’s arousal entered his nose. He took it all and felt satisfied as Cassandra shuddered with a cry when she reached her high.

Cassandra pulled free to reach up and twist her fingers into Axel’s hair. She dragged him down for a hard long kiss. She couldn’t find the words to say how amazing that made her feel but Axel didn’t need to hear it. Cassandra's blissful expression was enough. Axel pulled her close and wrapped one arm around her, rubbing at his mouth with the back of one hand.

They must have fallen asleep again. It seemed to happen a lot when they were cuddled up together. Axel’s peace was broken by an insistent tapping on the door. He heard his brother shout his name, so he kissed Cassandra’s cheek and carefully pulled his arm out in case he disturbed her.

Axel smoothed down his clothes and headed out the bedroom. He opened the front door to see Lucas standing outside, staring at him suspiciously when he took in the sight.

Axel’s hair was a mess, lips full blown and flushed pink. Lucas resisted the temptation to tell him he had something on his face. He bit back a smile.

“I’m heading back into town with Gabe for a bit. I’ll see you later, unless you’re staying here.” Axel suddenly got unnecessarily close. It was almost impossible for Lucas to walk away.

“Why the hell are you even talking to that dipshit? What did he say about Cas?” Axel demanded, absolutely refusing to let Lucas move until he answered him.

“Nothing, Axel. We were just talking about his family and stuff. It actually made a lot of sense. I know you don’t like him, but he had his reasons for acting the way he did.”

Axel sensed a lot more information had been exchanged between them than Lucas was prepared to admit.

“Dammit, Lucas. I know there’s somethin’ you’re not telling me.”

“Yes, Axel - and I’m sure there’s stuff you’re not telling me,” Lucas added carefully, placing a supportive hand on Axel’s shoulder. He didn’t want them to fight anymore and was really anxious to prove to Axel he could always count on him, whatever happened. Lucas forced a smile through the suffocating concern pulling at his heart. “I know there’s more going on between you and Cas than you make out, and I totally understand. I really do think she could be your true mate and I’m happy for you, Axel.” Lucas said honestly. “I just hope you know what you’re doing.”

“I do,” Axel answered quickly. The look in his eyes was more than enough to show Lucas just how much he meant it. “Cas is mine, Lucas. She’s mine, and I’m going to make sure I take real good care of my baby. Nobody's ever going to take her away from me.”

Axel never imagined just how soon that heartfelt promise would come back to haunt him.
