Gradually gaining consciousness, Carmen brought her hand to her head because pain was emanating from there and God she was in pain. She didn't want to open her eyes because she was afraid of what reality would present to her as fact and she feared she wouldn't be able to handle it. She had never felt so bad and even though she didn't remember anything, she knew that there was one thing she didn't want to remember and for what reason, she didn't know. She remained like this for some time, once again feeling fatigue engulf her.
