After Hugo left, Carmen put things away and washed her hands. She was delaying the fateful moment and yet she had to take her share of responsibility in this matter. She had certainly accepted but the desire to refuse had taken hold of her ever since, even though she could not go back. She had never been close to a man because otherwise she would suffer the wrath of her family and suddenly she was going to spend the night in a man's bed.
