Chapter 21

1153 Words
I reached a wrecked building after following the GPS. There were two wrecked buildings side by side. It was in the outskirts of the city. I found it a bit weird but ignored it. I parked my car far away at the backside of the second building and took my duffel bag and phone with me.         I saw Xavier's car parked infront of the house. They just reached here now. Xavier turned the engine off and got out of the car. Soon all of them were out. I saw Michael checking out their surroundings for any kind of danger.            I noticed an opened window of the building I was hiding behind. I slowly creeped out and reached the window. Making sure to be as quiet as possible, I jumped up and clutched the window sill. I hoisted my body up and swung my left leg on the sill. With great difficulty, I managed to get in. The weight of my duffel bag made the task harder. It was dark and eerily quiet. Fear clutched my heart.         This is not the time to get scared.         I searched for a torch light in my bag. After shuffling through various things, I took it out and flashed the light on. Moving the torch, I looked around my surroundings. It was dusty and filled with thousands of spider webs. I saw a staircase and quickly but cautiously climbed up the stairs. The sound of footsteps echoing through the space. The second floor seemed somewhat less dark as light streamed in from an open window. I peaked through the window to avoid getting caught and noticed that I had the perfect view.          Finally, the odds are with me.       I saw Xavier arguing with the two securities standing at the entrance of the building. His fists were clenched and he looked angry. Max was trying to calm him down but it was futile. Suddenly, he took out his g*n and shot both the guards dead. I gasped but quickly recovered as I saw a few guards armed with guns come out of the building and point it towards them. I took out my sniper and watched them like a hawk. A dark figure came with black hair and dull green eyes. He seemed to be the man who kidn*pped Ashley.          Ashley? Where is she?            I watched as Xavier and that man exchanged a few words. Then the man said something to one of the guards which I couldn’t make out as he whispered it to him. The guard left and later came with a girl. Her face was hid by a cover. The guard removed the cover on Xavier’s instructions and my heart instantly dropped at the sight.       It’s her. I thought she was dead.        Tears welled in my eyes as I pictured her baby face. She has grown so much. I wiped a stray tear away it is not the time to cry. I have to help her get away. She was struggling against the man's hold but when Xavier shot her a look she instantly stopped doing it.       Suddenly, I saw Sam's hand going behind him. He took out his g*n and pressed the trigger. The man fell down on his knees as the deafening sound rang through the air. She freed herself from the man and kicked him in the groin. He fell limp on the ground. One of the guards fired at Sam but he dodged it and shot him. Within a second, guns were firing and people were dying. I aimed my sniper on the guard who was now punching Max. I pressed the trigger and the bullet hit him on his arm. This gave Max the chance to free himself from him and he started punching. Two seconds later, he may dead on the ground.      I kept firing every time I got the chance. Sometimes on the shoulder , chest or on the back. Luckily this g*n had a silencer, everyone looked puzzled as to who was shooting those men down but I ignored them.      Suddenly, that man grasped Ashley's hair and forced her to come to the centre. He told everyone to stop and as Xavier turned around his eyes went wide seeing a g*n pointed at Ashley. The man threatened him to stop. I could see Xavier contemplating what to do and what not to do.   No! I can’t lose her now.     I filled the sniper with bullets and aimed at the man. I had to be careful as he was holding Ashley infront of him resulting her to cover half of him. One wrong move and the bullet would hit her.    It’s either do or die.      I aimed the g*n at him. With fear in my heart, I fired the g*n and instantly closed my eyes not wanting to see whom I hit.      Please don’t tell me I hit her.       I opened my eyes and saw him fall onto his knees. It's was so quiet that you could hear even a pin drop on the floor. I hit him ! Thanks to my dad for teaching me how to shoot. Xavier kept firing him until he was dead. The last four Guards looked like they were going to pee in their pants. I mentally laughed thinking of this. Max shot them dead.      As I looked around the place I saw dead bodies scattered everywhere and blood filling the ground. I instantly gagged at the sight and felt a bit of sadness when I recalled that I had killed them all. Not all of them but quite a good number. There is no time to feel sad I must go now otherwise Xavier is going to find me here.     I packed my things and got down the stairs with the help of the torch. I jumped out of the window to the car. I  was about to open the door of the car when a voice stopped me.     "Well, well, what do we have here ?" I turned around and came face to face with a smirking Sam. All the colour drained out of my face and I cursed myself for being so careless.     “Come, let's take you to Xavier. He so is going to enjoy it.” Sam dragged me towards them. What did I get myself into? Words were not coming out of my mouth.   He stopped and I saw the others leaning against the car talking to themselves. Xavier's back was facing me so I couldn't see his face .      “Look who we have here ?" All of their attention turned to me and I watched as Xavier narrowed his eyes while Max smirked and Michael had a confused face.       "Hazel, what are you doing here ?" He questioned. His words holding nothing but anger. This is going to be a long tiring night.
