“Here”. I bring the champagne glass to Maya
Since the last time I saw her, that was in the court, she looks lot worse.
“Thank you for meeting me.
Heard you got a new house?”
She asks.
And I nod, settling down.
“I did.
I just wanted a place to go start all over again.
I hope that this will be the last time I'll leave things behind.
And also find a home that's not made of glass”
I smile, as I sit back…
“I really hope things work out for you.
We just want the best for you”
She pats my back, as she goes quiet again.
“I know”
I nod
“The lawyer said, the trial has postponed for next month.
And the chances are tough.
They are talking about twenty plus years in jail or worst it can be a death penalty.
It depends on the jury.
