I stand outside the room
Sweating.
Anxious.
Yet, a frustration in me.
“I looked to find any details left behind
But there is no trace left”
Todd returns, and he puts a piece of paper in front of me.
“It's the lady's number.
I have asked to give us a call if your mother returns”
He informs me
And I just turn around as I start to walk away.
Every second I imagined how it will be to see her I had a hope that at least I'll find her
And by the time I'm here she was gone
This is all my fault
Maybe if I had come early, I could have met her
“Madeline, I know you are disappointed
But don't lose hope.
We will figure something out.
