I TURNED OFF THE MAIN road onto the gravel drive, making my way through the open gate. I followed the drive up the slight hill, twisting through the woods with trees casting deep shadows from the green leaves that had burst forth with the coming of spring. I pulled up to the hand-built cabin. I got out of the car and looked around. I walked to the door of the cabin. I knocked softly.
