Chapter 6:Fortune to Misfortune

It's already midnight and as usual,Avila was still awake.Although,she slept for seven hours last night.

Currently,the time now is 1 o' clock in the morning.She was still hungry because she skipped dinner last night and was still exercising to strengthen her weak body.

She conducted 10-25 or more push-ups than the last few days and maybe for a few weeks she conduct a lot more type of exercises like curl-ups,squat and etc.Her weak body was getting stronger little by little.Yet,her strength was an exception.

Her body was light and that is why she can lift herself up.But her strength was weak and maybe in the near future she can't even wield a sword,properly.

Maybe,she will never be a swordsman in the future.But her poison-making

is a sanction.

Even in her past life,having the greatest strength was not an advice that her sensei had given to her as an assassin.Because when it comes to being assassin...you have to be fast and quick like a ninja.At least,that's how she was taught.

Every assassin has it's own specialty.One of her crew doesn't even know how to fight or rather suck at fighting.But it's good enough that he knows something that even Avila doesn't know.

Like,Rui.Rui was great at making suits that was best for taking missions.His invention was even worn by Avila when she was on a mission in her past life as Astrid.Because Rui's suit was special,it makes a person completely invisible.Not likely,that the person who will wear it,will disappear but helps a person to camouflage himself/herself.And Avila can't even do that!Art and science isn't her best subject!

Just as she was thinking,her stomach started growling.It growled endlessly for a few minutes that made her moan.She really is hungry,huh?

She stood up and slowly went to her closet to change.

But one thing caught her attention.She stopped immediately,and went towards the mirror.She looked at the mirror while touching her face.

Her face was really ugly,huh?

She touched her ugly birthmark in her right cheek gently,wondering if she could make it disappear.

"I wonder if I could cleanse this with poison..."She mumbled.

When she was looking in her reflection,her heart suddenly started to skip a beat that goes 'ba-thump,ba-thump'.

In an instant,she was cut off from her thoughts.She was shocked to felt such a shocking sensation coming from her body.She clasped her chest and not for long the weird feeling slowly disperse.She panted heavily and her heart calmed down a bit.Her face became pale just now...

"What...what was that?"

What was that weird feeling?It was like something pierced Avila's heart that she almost felt that she could die...again.

While,Avila was still in shock her stomach started growling again.

The grumbling stomach obviously cut her off from her thoughts and this even reminded her that she was supposed to be sneaking in the kitchen by now to steal some foods...wait?steal...no,no...it's called borrow!At least,she thought it like that.

She subconsciously scratch her head and slowly went to her closet.

After she changed into her another sleeping attire,she decided to sneak into the kitchen to have a little midnight snack.

Her mouth hooked into a shallow smile and mischief filled within her eyes.Her blood was boiling wildly.She has never been this excited before, since she transmigrated in this world.

"Hehehe..let's have some fun."She coldly sneered.

Why she had to sneak in the kitchen?

Well?...didn't she lied that she already ate?

What will happen if they knew the truth?...It's a little ridiculous that she has no choice but to sneak in the kitchen with this excuse...

In the dark shadows,Avila,who was hiding behind the pillars could not see clearly.But she didn't dare look carelessly because there were guards surrounding the area.And that area was the only way she could take because that was the only path to the kitchen.

As expected...they are still night guards at this hour...What to expect from a palace who was owned by a duke?Avila thought.

Sure,there is an open window above the area and it's also a way to go to the kitchen which was in the first floor... but she can't randomly jump with that kind of height,will she?

The height was taller than she can jump with the body she has now.She is still in training and her current body is still weak.What she could do now was to make a diversion.

Avila."..."

Avila randomly picked up a rock on the ground,carefully not making any single noise as she suddenly throws it in an opposite direction of the area that made a little noise like "Bang" to try to caught their attention.And it did.

The guards looked at where the noise was and they hastily panicked while grasping their swords in their belt.

"W-what was that?!"The guard exclaimed then he continued."Who is there?"

As the guard said that,Avila who was still hiding behind a pillar threw another rock and purposefully made a ruckus.

"There's an assassin!!!Capture!"

"Roger!"

Slowly,the guards chase and chase the non-existent "assassin",until they got away from the area and Avila's plan worked.

Avila giggled silently at how stupid they were to fall such an easy trick.She took the advantage and ran towards the hallway as she carefully opened the door and went in.

"Hah~"Avila sighed of relief.

"Now,where was the kitchen again?~"Avila mumbled while holding her chin as she observed her surroundings.

She was now in a hallway,the color of carpet she was stepping on was red,the ceiling was white while the wall was painted black.

Avila walked and walked until something out of the blue flashed in her eyes.

There was a weird bright light that came out from a room whose door was open and she was standing near it.With an act of curiousity,she pushed the door slightly that made a small squeaky sound,went inside with tiptoe steps and let her eyes explore.

And there she saw...

"Holy sh*t!It's a snow lotus!-"She subconsciously cover her mouth with her hand.Realizing,that she was too loud and what if she could get caught.

She waited for a few minutes if there was a person coming by the room but silence was she received.

She sighed out of relief and continued to whisper."Holy sh*t...it's a snow lotus.No wonder,this area was highly guarded."

She looked at the snow lotus and she counted.There were a lot of them and unexpectedly,there were a lot of petals on them.It grew healthily.

Her eyes was now filled with happiness and greediness.

How many money will she get,if she sell all of this and how many medicines could she make with this?!

This is so many that she can't wait and grab it with her own hands.

But no.It's a dangerous decision.If she'll grab it all,in the morning,people will get suspicious and it will make a commotion.

So,the greatest choice to make,now, was to pick a few petals and save the others for the future.

And with that,she grabbed one petal from each one of the snow lotuses she could pick.In total,she has 6 petals now,placed in her pocket.

There were a lot of snow lotuses and Avila only grabbed one petal each of them.So,none of the lotuses look suspicious or looked like they were snatched.It's obvious that what she just did was an act of stealing but if someone can't caught the act then there is no crime.Maybe,she call this an act of borrowing.

She smiled again but now her smile was filled with over-joy.She was very happy that something really good had happen in her new life.

"Hehehe...I can't wait to make poisons and medicines with these.What a good fortune I got!"She joyfully said to herself as she went outside and gently close the door.

And now,she was heading to the kitchen.

"Nom,nom."

Is this tasty or is Avila was just too hungry?

Avila is now eating an apple that she had grabbed in a bin from the kitchen as she slowly walk,going back to her own room.Her room was not that far but still she has a long way to go.Only 30 meters,she will soon arrive to her destination.

While,she was walking slowly and munching the apple in her mouth,she suddenly felt the breeze blowing her hair.She looked at the big-round moon from the west that caught her attention.There is no doubt that it was almost morning.Maybe,the time now is around 1:30 to 2:00.

Currently,Avila was now staring at the big white round moon.She admired the view very much.The way the trees was blown by the cold yet soothing breeze chimed and tingled Avila's ears.

Avila's eyes was mesmerized of how the moon was beautiful.She wondered if she could go out for a little stroll.

Avila."..."

It couldn't hurt if it's just a little bit of time to spare,right?

She wasn't even sleepy anymore.Maybe just a little and she'll come after she is done.Sounds good?

Without hesitation,she subconsciously

ran from where she was standing towards the west.She jumped out of the gate that was not too tall for her to jump and continued to run.

She was trying to follow where the moon's direction was,like if she could,she has to catch up to the moon!

As she ran and ran,trees suddenly appeared beside her,but she didn't mind that,she was too distracted looking at the moon that she doesn't even know where she is heading at.

As she ran and ran towards the west,she could feel like the moon was getting bigger that she thinks that she is getting near it.

But truth to be told,she already knew that she can't catch up to the moon.She just wants to be free!

Free from all!Free from her room and the palace.Free from all the main characters she has to face in the future.

"Hurray!!I am free!"She shouted as if she was the only person in the world.

She was still running non-stop,even if she was running out of breath.

"I am free m*th*fuc*e**s!-"

Avila."!!"

Being careless and staring out in the space too much,she tripped something hard and unfortunately,she hit her face in the ground.

"Ouch,that really hurts!hisss..."She complained as she fix herself up.She stood up and embarrassingly her nose were bleeding.Her forehead were swollen from the fall and her cheeks were a little bit bruised.

She hastily wiped the blood from her nose and turn to look back,to see what she just tripped on.

And what she saw shocked her.It was a leg!

She tripped on a leg!She internally screamed and chills sent shivers down her spine.

Truth to be told,she is scared but the more she feels like now is...she is oddly disgusted.

She thought that what she stepped was a leg that was separated from a dead body.

But no,it wasn't just a leg...the body wasn't separated.She saw the whole body...and weirdly she saw a long gray hair scattered in the ground.

She doesn't know if it is a man or a woman but she knew that this body was dead.Because she sense no life on it.

"Just to make sure...check the pulse first..."She mumbled.

She came closer to the body and before she could even lay her hands on the person something stopped her.

The body moved!No.It's alive!

With a quick motion,the body went behind Avila and their was a dagger piercing Avila's neck that it bleed a little,it was almost gonna went through to inside her throat.The person was holding her chin with one hand.

That was a swift move that even made Avila jumped a little.She never encountered someone faster than her and she even thought that the body was dead.She never expected that someone could surpass her before.This was all like a challenge to her yet it was a life-threat.

"Fu,fu,fu...How embarrassing...you tripped just like that...how careless...and now you are going to die...don't blame me...just blame your luck..."He whispered to Avila's ear with a faint voice as Avila's veins pop out from her forehead.It was obvious that she was angry and humiliated of what the person has said,although being scared was the least thing she should do in this situation.

She tried to struggle from the grasp but failed.The grip was too strong.

What is she gonna do now?...What will happen to her?She thought that her ending fate was later but why is it so soon!
