Chapter 25: The Safe House The journey took nearly four hours. Rain fell heavily throughout the drive. The safe house stood deep within a forest, hidden from roads and satellite surveillance. It looked abandoned. Exactly as a safe house should. Adrian carefully checked the perimeter. "No signs of recent activity." Serena nodded. "Let's go inside." The front door opened with an old key hidden beneath a loose stone. The moment Serena entered, she froze. Photographs covered the walls. Hundreds of them. Pictures of Lily growing up. Birthday parties. Vacations. Training sessions. Family dinners. Moments she couldn't remember. Yet there they were. Proof they had happened. Lily slowly walked through the room. "Mom..." Her voice cracked. Serena followed her gaze. One photograph showed Serena teaching Lily a martial arts stance. Another showed them practicing together. Both smiling. Both happy. Tears filled Serena's eyes. She had lost years of memories. Years she would never fully recover. Then Adrian discovered something hidden behind a bookshelf. A journal. Its cover bore a familiar name. Serena Hart. The room became silent. Slowly, Serena opened the first page. The opening sentence made her blood run cold. so if you're reading this,by then my memories are gone.
