Driving home from school, I passed a new bakery in town and decided to stop by to check it out. I was in love with a good pastry and so was my mom. I park my car right outside the front entrance in a parking spot before heading inside. Once I opened the doors, the fresh smell of sugar and baked goods clouded my nose. The smell practically picked me up and carried me away inside. I approached the front counter and their was a blonde with piercing emerald green eyes and a smile to die for. "Hi. Welcome to Dave's Sweet Treats. What could I get for you?" he said while smiling that same gorgeous smile. "Hi. This is my first time here. What would you recommend," I ask while never losing eye contact. I didn't know if he was Dave, but I know I wouldnt mind if he ended up being my mate.
He smiled again and said," My personal favorite is my white wedding cake cupcake with cheesecake filling." "I love cheesecake! I'll take four please." I returned a very big smile and paid for my order. I watched as he carefully place the cupcakes in a white box and wrapped a purple ribbon around it before handing it over to me. I thanked him as I turned towards the entrance. He spoke again," My name is Dave by the way. What is yours?" As I head out the door, I turn around and say,"Guess I gotta come back so you can know my name, huh?" I flashed a smile before heading to my car to leave.
Driving up to my house, I park in the driveway and grab the goodies I just bought. Heading in the house I call out to my mom,"Mom come try these cupcakes I got from the new bakery in town." She walks in the kitchen before hugging me and taking a cupcake from the box. "Wow these are wonderful. We might need to try more items since these taste so good." she shared. "The owner is very nice too," I added. My mom looked up at me and chuckled. "He must also be handsome too since the smile you are wearing hasn't left your face," she asked. I nodded knowing my mom knows me so well. We clean up our mess and store the other pastries in the cake glass covering on top of the refrigerator.
I make my way to my room to change out of my uniform. I was no longer bound to the school, so it was time to shed their mandatory skin. I put on a purple bralette with some black athletic leggings and my black nike shoes. Just as I'm about to start doing my homework, I get this eerie feeling that I'm being watched. This time is different than before. I looked out my window and I didnt see anyone but I still felt a pair of eyes watching me. Even though I didnt see anyone, a cold shiver went down my spine.
Finishing the last of my homework, I decide I can finally go for a run. I casually walk into the kitchen to the refrigerator. Opening the door, I grab a bottle of water. Leaving the kitchen, I descend to the front door in order to get a little me time.
Running was like the one thing that always helps me clear my mind and stay in tune with myself. It's how I stay grounded. Nothing but me, my feet hitting the pavement, and the calm soothing sounds of the wind whipping pass my ears that just slows down my thought process and get me focused. Once i make it to the sidewalk, I tuck my phone in my armband case and tightly grip the water before striking off down the street. My thoughts of my upcoming birthday have kind of been weighing down on my mind heavily. I do want a mate but it's the what-if's that tend to make me nervous. The thought of meeting my wolf for the first time excites me as well. Would my wolf be excited to meet me, a good question too.
Keeping a steady pace and letting my imagination carry me, I come to a sudden stop realizing I am five miles away from my house. I ran so far that a few more miles would place me back at my dreaded school. I take a few moments to catch my breathe and decide to drink vigorously from my bottle to quench my dehydrated status. All of this thinking and running has made me hungry now and I couldnt wait to get back home to eat.
Slowly as I approached my house, the sudden shock that my Birthday was about twenty-four hours away smacked me like a ton of bricks. I had so many unanswered questions to fear and be amazed by the answers that wait for me. I dart toward the kitchen as my growling stomach and food scent filled nostrils lead me to a mouth-watering and well deserved dinner being cooked. I love when my mom cooks. Thinking about it, I will miss her meals after my mate whisks me away to my possible doom after he finds me. I chuckle to myself on how comically dramatic I can be. I hope my mate has a sense of humor.
"Hey mom, what smells so good?" I walk up to see my mom stirring a pot spaghetti sauce. "I'm making spaghetti. Well I made spaghetti. Just finishing up the sauce but you can eat if you are as hungry as your stomach sounds." My mom laughs at the sounds coming from my midsection. I sit down and eat a very big serving extremely fast. If I wasnt a wolf, I would probably have heartburn from the speed of my eating.
After dinner, I shower and prepare myself for bed. I grab pajamas out of my dresser and dress in them before tucking myself comfortably in my bed. Turning off my lamp, I reach for my charger so that my phones is full for tomorrow. I stare up at my ceiling, placing my hands behind my head, before I let out a humongous sigh. This is the absolute last night I have entirely to myself. For when I wake, the countdown to my wolf transformation starts. What could go wrong? Or right for that matter?
