Aria and Sarah kept going on their trip through the Shadow Realm checking out the magical place and all its cool stuff. As they walked, Aria started to feel something weird in her stomach. At first, she thought it was just the strange energy of the realm, but as the feeling got stronger, she began to feel a bit dizzy and sick.
"Sarah, I'm not feeling great," Aria said out of nowhere, putting her hand on her stomach.
Sarah looked worried. "What's the matter, Aria?"
"I feel strange," Aria blurted out, her forehead creased with worry. "My stomach has this weird tingle, and I'm a bit lightheaded. Plus, I can't stop thinking about that night with Ryker..."
Sarah looked pensive. "The night you spent with the alpha?"
Aria's face turned red as she nodded. "Yeah... I never expected it to lead to this!"
Sarah gave her a kind smile. "Well, it seems it did! Aria, you're pregnant!"
Aria's mouth fell open. "What?! No way! That can't be! We were together for just one night!"
Sarah laughed. "That's all it needed!"
"What should I do now?" Aria asked, feeling panic start to rise.
Sarah got serious. "You need to talk to Ryker. He should know."
Aria's thoughts raced as she tried to make sense of the news. Pregnant? Carrying Ryker's pup? She hadn't planned for this! She felt her life was spinning out of her control.
"Nobody can find out about this," Aria said . "Not even Ryker."
Sarah looked surprised, her eyebrows rising in worry. "Are you sure about this? He should know. He's the dad after all."
Aria shook her head hard, her hair whipping around her face. "No, Sarah. I don't want him to know. I don't want anyone to know. I can't stand the idea of him thinking I'm good for one thing - having babies."
Sarah nodded , with understanding in her eyes. "Alright Aria. I'll keep your secret. But why are you so scared of Ryker finding out? He might shock you and back you up."
Aria let out a harsh laugh. "Supportive? Ryker? Don't joke. He's an alpha Sarah. He cares about one thing, power. If he learns I'm pregnant, he'll see me as a tool."
Sarah's face softened. "Aria, that's wrong. Ryker cares for you. I've noticed how he watches you."
Aria's eyes blazed. "Don't be foolish, Sarah. Ryker cares for no one but himself. I won't let him use me for his benefit."
As they embraced, Aria felt she could count on Sarah to maintain her confidentiality. Yet she recognized that guarding this information would alter everything.
Aria and Sarah strolled for some time, with the gentle sound of leaves crunching under their feet. Thoughts of the future and how she'd manage to protect her secret filled Aria's mind.
"Sarah, what should I do?" Aria asked, speaking .
Sarah looked at her, worry visible on her face. "We'll work it out, Aria. We'll tackle this as a team."
Aria nodded, feeling grateful to Sarah. She knew she could always rely on her friend.
As they walked, the trees grew denser, casting deep shadows that obscured their vision. Aria tripped, her foot snagging on a hidden root.
Sarah grabbed her arm, stabilizing her. "Watch out, Aria. We don't want you to get hurt."
Aria gave a wry smile. "I'm just a bit clumsy, that's all."
Sarah's face turned serious. "Aria, you need to be careful. You're carrying precious cargo now."
Aria touched her stomach feeling amazed. She realized she would become a mother!
Sarah halted, staring at something far away. "I'm out of time, Aria. I need to go now."
Aria's spirits dropped. "What? No, Sarah! You can't go now!"
Sarah looked determined. "I have to, Aria. My part in your story ends here. You need to handle what comes next by yourself."
Aria felt scared all of a sudden. "But what about Ryker? And the baby? And all the strange sounds in the woods?"
Sarah spoke but . "You have strength Aria. You can deal with this. You need to deal with this. you can confront your destiny."
Sarah then spun around and vanished among the trees abandoning Aria scared and by herself. Aria yelled after her, but Sarah had gone.
Aria remained rooted to the spot, her pulse pounding, her thoughts spinning. She found herself isolated now, with nobody to seek help from. She inhaled and started to move, her legs propelling her into the uncertain future.
Aria walked through the forest, her feet felt heavy as loneliness weighed her down. She had never experienced such isolation before. Sarah was no longer there, and she had nobody to turn to. No one to chat with. No one to share her worries and uncertainties with.
As she continued her journey, Aria considered returning to the pack. She could go back to Ryker and the others humble herself, and ask them to forgive her. But something inside her pushed back against this thought. She realized she couldn't return, not at this moment. She had to push on, despite how frightening it seemed.
Aria recalled Ryker's treatment and his rejection of her as his mate. She also remembered how the others had looked at her, mixing curiosity with suspicion. She couldn't return to that life. She needed to create her own journey, despite its challenges.
With fresh resolve, Aria kept moving forward leaving the pack and her history in the past. She would tackle whatever came next alone and scared, but unrestrained.
Aria walked out into the night surrounded by chilly air. She inhaled hoping to empty her mind. But she couldn't stop thinking about the baby in her womb. The idea of becoming a mother stunned her. She felt the enormous burden of this duty.
How could she bring up a child on her own? Ryker had made it obvious he wanted nothing to do with her. Aria felt a twinge of sorrow, but she pushed it away. She couldn't alter what had happened, but she had the power to mold what was to come.
Aria reflected on her childhood without a dad. She always felt incomplete. She didn't want her child to experience the same feeling. She resolved to provide her baby with the best life possible even without Ryker's help.
"I'll do this," she said but firmly. "I'll raise my child with love and strength. They'll never know the pain of rejection."
As she stood there, the darkness seemed to fade. A sense of purpose took its place. Aria knew she faced a long journey, but she felt ready. She would tackle any challenges that came her way, for her child's sake.
She reflected on everything she hoped to pass on to her child. She wanted to raise them to be tough and self-assured, to feel loved and deserving of love. She hoped they would grow up to have an impact on the world.
Aria felt her heart overflow with affection and resolve. She believed she'd make a great mom, and her child would flourish with her love and attention. Would someone find out her secret or would it stay hidden forever?
