"Her eyes, her scent, and her presence say it so. She has lycan blood. She's an alpha and you should have realized it in the first place. Don't you feel it too?"
Ares and Selene looked at each other. He appeared to be beguiled believing that he is telling a fact. No matter how he insisted she can't be a werewolf, an alpha at that. She's definitely, born and raised in her world. There is no possibility that she is from here.
"Hey," Selene called him, slightly peeping her head out of Ares's arms. "...if you promise not to attack me, I will talk to you and we should put an end to the misunderstanding, right?"
Cronus's eyes brighten as he met his alpha's emerald green eyes. Selene saw an imaginary wagging of tail on Cronus's back as she sees how excited he is.
"Yes! I will promise! I will not hurt you!", He exclaimed excitedly. She became less tense witnessing the difference between the scary young man in the alley and the young man in front of her.
"Selene," Ares held her arm, preventing her to leave his side. "It's dangerous."
Selene saw a new side of Ares today, she had a glimpse of it whenever he interacts with the twins. She then, concluded that Ares treats her differently than the others.
Seeing him becoming cold, unruffled, and distant. This is not what she used to see. Ares is clumsy, hot-headed, slow, and warm. This is his complete opposite self when she is with him and with the others.
"It's alright. We'll be talking within your sight so it's safe." Perceiving that she relies on his protection somehow elevates his anxiousness. Ares lets her go and Selene walked towards that infuriating shame-less lycan.
Selene guided Cronus to sit at the small table beside one of the bookshelves. They both seated and Cronus who was silently following her all that time analyzed her whole feature, from head to toe.
She's still wearing a black cloak, concealing her body, he could only stare at her face. Without the hoodie, he can see how beautiful she is. Her hair is jet-black, wavy not curly also not straight. It looks fluffy and bouncy, he wanted to touch it but afraid that she would take it the wrong way.
He continues to trail her facial features on his memory. Sketching every line and stroke of her face to his head. The thin but dark arched brows and her green lush enticing eyes haunt him to sleep. Those long and thick eyelashes flatter each time she bats her eyes.
Clear smooth skin, that felt soft and warm under his touch. The tiny nose that compliments her small face. Lastly, staring at her pinkish dry but plumpy small lips, like it was alluring him to lean and devour her using his mouth.
He gulped, shaking his head erasing this dirty thought piling on his mind. She is his alpha, she must be respected. This is no time to think about things that they could do after marriage.
Selene had confused eyes watching Cronus shaking his head, turning his cheeks to bright crimson, and nodding by himself. It's cute of him being immersed in his thoughts.
Even though this cute manly, and handsome young man once attacked her in a dark valley. She almost forgot the sensation of his tongue l*****g her.
Feeling the goosebumps on her skin she chooses to start conversing with him.
"Excuse me," waving her hand on his face he came back to reality.
"Hi, before we start talking, should we introduce ourselves first?" She politely requests.
Speaking softly, Cronus couldn't help but admire his Alpha's etiquette. Despite the bad encounter last time. She still chooses to cooperate with him, with a smile too.
"I understand, I'm Cronus, the current alpha of the tribe of Shani. I knew you heard how I don't deserve to be called an Alpha but I promise you..."
"Pfft..."
"...Once we form a pact of the divine betrothal, I will do better, I will lead better, I will satisfy your needs in life. I will be a deserving husband by your---"
"HAHAHAHA!" Selene tried to cover her mouth to stop her loud laughing yet it is inevitable.
Cronus blinked gazing towards the young lady who is laughing her hearts out by his whole-heartedly confession and proposal. Instead of getting mad by her interruption and reaction, her laugh pierced his caused his lips to form a smile.
"Why are you laughing?" He asked smiling, white teeth and dimples showing. Watching contently at her happy state. "Did I say something funny?"
Selene shook her head forcing herself to be quiet. "N-no, hahahaha...no." She gasped for air to cool down.
"It's because you are so handsome, you are my type and this kind of scenario only happened in a romance book. I found it hilarious that I am experiencing everything at once. It's refreshing, thank you." Seeing her warm eyes with genuine sincere gape, he is stunned.
Though he did not grasp half the meaning of her sentences, he still felt something pinched his stomach. Voltage crawled through his skin, goosebumps on his spine, and electrifying aftermath tickled his abdomen.
"Anyways, I appreciated your proposal though I have to refuse, I'm sorry." She said while wiping the tears formed on her eyes by laughing too much.
"I-it's alright, I am in no hurry." He said absent-mindedly, still feeling the effect of that another kind of sensation which caused his heart to beat rapidly.
"I'm Selene, it's nice to meet you Cronus." She extended her arm, wanted to make handshakes with him for formality.
Cronus stared at her white slender looking delicate arm. He looked at her charming smiling face back to her extended arm. Confused at first but was determined later, he reached out her hand. Closing his eyes and brushed his lips on her palm.
"...a-ahm," Selene uttered in an awkward tone but Cronus remained on kissing her. In an instant, a brusque force pulled her upwards which leads her to stand up.
"Ares?" She muttered concerned seeing Ares burning glare. His gorgeous golden eyes stared straight into her eyes. Selene is startled to receive his burning glare.
"Did you accept him?" His voice thundered, the gloomy and dark tone echoed.
"What?"
"Did you accepted his proposal?! ARE YOU MARRYING HIM?!" He growled louder, his blazing golden eyes glowed. His fingers holding her arm dug on her flesh. Feeling his nails growing, she mewled.
"What are you doing?! Let her go!" Cronus tried to snatch her over from his grasp but it resulted in more injury for Selene's arm.
"DON'T TOUCH HER!" Ares screamed to Cronus, shifted his gazes to him. Without any warning, he flew out by Ares telepathic power.
"ARES!" Retorting to violence Selene yelled his name anyhow he did not listen. Ares persists in slamming Cronus's body from the bookshelf to the ground to the wall.
"ARES ENOUGH! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? YOU MIGHT KILL HIM! STOP!" She hollered at him hitting his chest using her other hand to wake him up.
He's not himself!
"PHOBOS! DIEMOS!" She turned her head around but found the whole place isolated. "SOMEONE!"
"Let her go vampire!" Cronus released his ability, breaking through the vampire's telekinesis ability. Without minding the injuries that happened to his body, he ran fast towards the two figures.
Abrupted by an invisible wall, he felt a sharp pain sank to his chest. If he did not have any resistance, that might attack harm his heart. Either way, he was still critical in taking the stabbing force.
"ARES THAT'S ENOUGH!" Selene screamed louder seeing Cronus coughed blood through his mouth. "Ares..." Losing her strength she started to beg him crying.
"Please stop..." She hugged his body burying her head on his chest, sobbing continuously. "St-stop it, this isn't y-you. Please stop..."
Ares discerned the warm liquid envelops to his chest. A tight embrace by a small frame on his torso. The tension built up inside him started to break down, the buzzing from his ears stop and he could hear the young lady that he was holding forcefully was crying so loud.
Calling his name repeatedly. He batted his eyes, looking at how disastrous the whole place becomes. Saw the lycan lying on the ground bleeding profusely.
"Selene..." yelping out her name with his shaky, trembling voice. He looked at her, specifically, on his hand and her arms, he was grasping firmly. Blood flowed from her wound caused by his nails that grew on her flesh.
"Ares? Are you back? You're back right?" She asked panicking cupping his face. Staring straight to her eyes, he is stunned.
He made her cry?
Did he hurt her?
He made her bleed?
Did he do all this?
He cannot remember anything. He could recall that he was standing two bookshelves away from them. His face becomes distorted watching her arms bleed excessively, he was about to speak his concern but his body couldn't hold up.
"Ares!" He loses the strenght to remain standing. His body became so heavy and painful. He growled as his chest tightening. Clenching his fist he curled to the ground.
Losing his consciousness, the last thing he remembered was the young lady made him realized that he was already, fall in love. He wanted to laugh, can he still deny it, if this already happened?
