Covering more of my face, I started striding towards the back gate of the palace. It was surprising how there was no guards present there. The path was all dark and somehow I was able to see where I needed to go and take careful steps, putting one step after another. I winced suddenly as moving made the wound on my belly from earlier ache a little. In the hurry to come here, I had completely forgotten to put some medicine on my wound and now it was hurting. I placed one hand over it and started walking again. The sounds of the gravel under my feet were the only sound I could hear in the night. The darkness of the night has sent all the creatures to sleep, but that was not just the night, the night creatures were also hiding from this ominous presence around the place.
