Violet POV
Though I should've been shocked to see Jayden, I wasn't surprised. He was sitting in the living room alone. Mimzy gave me an awkward glance. I nodded at her and she went to Dave’s room. It wasn’t a surprise that Dave wasn’t with Jayden. That pup just didn’t like him.
He got up the moment he saw me. “How are you, Violet?” he said with hope in his eyes. But I knew better. He wanted to discuss what happened at Dave’s school.
“I am well, Jayden,” I sighed as I tossed my purse to a sofa nearby and removed heels from my aching legs.
“You already know why I am here.” He shifted on his feet as if uncomfortable.
“If this is about what happened at Dave’s school, then before you say anything, Dane is not under my control. He is a man of his own.”
