The previously buzzing corridor instantly fell silent. Employees snapped to attention, forming two rigid lines on either side.
Gu Xixi felt an overwhelming aura flood the space, powerful and suffocating. She instinctively turned, wanting to see the source of this presence.
Suddenly, her vision swam. Darkness clouded her eyes, dizziness crashing over her. The towering stack of folders slipped from her grasp, scattering wildly across the polished floor. Her legs buckled, and she pitched forward.
A collective gasp rippled through the onlookers. One thought echoed in every mind: Gu Xixi is finished!
Colliding with the President in public? She’s getting fired for sure!
Yin Sichen was striding purposefully towards the conference room when a commotion erupted from the crowd. A young woman, burdened by a mountain of files, stumbled out. Folders flew, and she lurched directly towards him.
Instinct screamed to dodge. But the moment he registered her face, his body moved on its own. He stepped forward, catching her before she hit the ground.
A wave of stunned silence, followed by sharp intakes of breath, swept the corridor. Everyone was dumbfounded.
Heavens! The President caught her?!
Everyone knew President Yin shunned female proximity! Any woman in the company who’d ever tried to use her looks to get close had faced severe consequences – without exception!
Not a single one had ever succeeded!
And today… he personally caught this insignificant clerk?
Before losing consciousness, Gu Xixi’s blurry vision registered a face of breathtaking beauty.
So strange… why does he look like that man from a month ago…?
Then, darkness claimed her.
Yin Sichen looked down at the unconscious woman in his arms. His perfectly sculpted brow furrowed slightly. As everyone held their breath, braced for his legendary wrath, he simply swept Gu Xixi up into a bridal carry. He turned and deposited her into his assistant’s startled arms.
“She’s a company employee. Get her to a hospital.”
The assistant, recovering quickly, took the unconscious Gu Xixi and hurried away.
Yin Sichen’s gaze swept the chaotic mess of scattered files. His frown deepened, a storm brewing. Several employees instantly scrambled forward, frantically gathering the folders and clearing the path. Only then did Yin Sichen stride forward, eyes fixed ahead, leaving a corridor full of utterly flabbergasted employees in his wake.
“The President… he hates female employees getting near him!” one woman whispered, bewildered. “Why wasn’t Gu Xixi fired on the spot?”
“I… I think I’m a little jealous of Gu Xixi right now,” another sighed, gazing dreamily after Yin Sichen’s retreating figure.
After running a battery of tests, the doctor turned to the assistant who had brought Gu Xixi in, beaming. “Congratulations! You’re going to be a father!”
The assistant froze. It took a full five seconds for the words to register.
Pregnant?! This clerk is pregnant?!
The President had specifically handed this woman to him… Did that mean…? Oh! So the President wasn't gay! Relief washed over him – his own virtue was safe! Simultaneously, a fierce, burning curiosity ignited.
This was huge!
He couldn’t waste a second. He had to get this explosive news to the President immediately!
Meanwhile, Yin Sichen was deep in negotiations with a major South Korean conglomerate in the boardroom. Securing this deal would mean the Yin financial empire controlled a staggering one percent of South Korea’s annual GDP.
“Our Chairman places immense value on family,” the Korean representative said smoothly, smiling at Yin Sichen. “He believes only those who cherish and nurture their families are worthy of long-term partnerships. You, President Yin, are so young, capable, and distinguished, leading such a vast enterprise. Surely, you are also a man who values family deeply?”
“Naturally,” Yin Sichen replied with practiced charm. “Family is paramount. Strong family values run deep in the Yin household.”
Just then, his phone vibrated with his assistant’s message. Yin Sichen offered an apologetic smile. “My apologies, I must attend to an urgent message.”
The representative nodded graciously.
Yin Sichen tapped the message open:
President, the female employee who fainted. Medical examination confirms pregnancy.
Yin Sichen’s face paled visibly. A cold shock shot through him.
How?
Right… that night. No precautions. And afterward… he hadn’t seen her again. Had she…? Clearly not.
His expression darkened, a storm gathering behind his composed mask.
The Korean representative, sensing the shift, leaned forward slightly. “Is there a problem, President Yin?”
Yin Sichen snapped back, forcing a calm facade. “Ah, nothing significant! Merely a minor internal matter.” His voice remained steady, betraying none of the turmoil within.
The representative seemed reassured. “The Chairman will be visiting China soon to personally finalize and sign the subsequent agreements. As his representative, I am thoroughly satisfied and confident in the Yin financial empire’s capabilities.”
Yin Sichen clenched his jaw, suppressing the rising tide of anger and shock. “Likewise! It’s an honor to collaborate with you. I have every confidence our partnership will be exceptionally fruitful.” His smile was tight.
Pleased, the Korean representative stood and extended his hand. “The Chairman will be accompanied by Madam Chairman. We look forward to meeting Mrs. Yin during their visit.”
