Realmbound: Empowered Ascendance in the New World

CHAPTER 2 : The Tutorial Begins!!

After understanding the system for some more time and gathering the necessary items in their inventory ,they started to wear the protective gear and also wore their biker's helmet which had a +5 damage absorption which meant they would receive -5 attack damage when getting hit on their head and by the knowledge they acquired ,they came to know the fact that on average a zombie had only 2 strength so their attack damage was only 2 which meant they would be receiving no damage at all from some of the zombies. Zombies had very low strength and agility stat but had an endurance stat of 20 on average ,which meant they were not that easy to kill . Now only 10 minutes were remaining before the start of the tutorial . Jason thought of a plan to successfully defend against the horde in the tutorial. He was very interested in wars so he also used to study war strategies and played many war simulation games and knew some methods to fend off a large number of troops .The methods which he could use with the two of them were 1- using traps or poisons ,or 2 – fighting the horde in a narrow space so that the numbers couldn't overwhelm him. He searched the shop and found out a fire trap and a stun trap which could prove very useful as lightning and fire were the only two attributes which can damage the dead easily .The fire trap's function was similar to a mine and cost 10 gild per trap and the stun trap had the same function and cost. He bought around 10 of each and put the fire traps near his front and back door and then closed the door. They than put all the furniture near the door and made sure that it was completely shut off. Now their was only an entrance through terrace as the windows of their house had an iron bar frame ,not one through which anyone could pass. And the zombies won't be able to come from the terrace. They also spread oil all over the furniture near the doors and spread the oil all over the ground floor and then they went up. Now the tutorial was going to start in 1 minute ,they went to the terrace and then closed the terrace door too. As the timer was going down their heartbeats grew much harder and faster. Then the timer reached 0 and a "ting" sound rang in their head with a notification appearing in front of them ,which read **The TUTORIAL starts now , Survive for 12 Hours **.

A sudden sound of earth cracking started to come from all around their house, Jason told his brother to stay at the center of the terrace near the door and went himself to peek and was shocked to find out that their were real zombies coming out of the ground. Their were many people on the road who obviously didn't took the message seriously and were now attacked by the zombies, some managed to fight back but some were attacked and immediately killed, he was horrified at the sight of zombies biting and killing the people but was also excited by the thrill. He then went to his brother and told him to not to be afraid and asked him to take deep breaths and relax .He took out a bow and 10 arrow which he had bought for 20 gilds and the arrows for 1 gild each ,he had 20 more in his inventory, the total amount was of 50 gilds, now he had only 100 gilds and his brother too had 100 gilds as he had also bought bow and arrows.

Now he went towards the front door side and saw that some zombies were nearing his house too and started shooting them ,he obviously wasn't that good at shooting them but the bow had an effect of +20 attack damage and the arrows had a +5 attack damage which combined were around 25 attack damage, enough to kill any average zombie with one hit. As he killed the first zombie a notification popped up saying **Congratulations! You are among the top 10 around your region to kill a monster 100 gilds will be awarded , 1 Zombie killed 10 gilds will be awarded** he knew that he wasn't the first to kill a zombie as the people on the roads were already fighting the zombies and some had even managed to kill some of the zombies but he was surprised to know the fact that he was in the top 10 and also by the fact that he received 100 gilds for such an achievement .One more notification popped up saying **+10 exp points**. He was aware of the fact that experience points were needed for him to level up and it took 100 exp to go to level 2 from level one and then by each level the amount of exp required increases by 100%. Another notification popped soon after ** proficiency in archery increased by 1**. After this he quickly told his brother to start shooting the zombies at the back door too as he wanted his brother to reap off the benefits too. Arden also received the top 10 achievement and got 100 gild as a reward ,Jason became aware of the fact that they were among the top 10 in their region now and very few people were able to kill a zombie by now. Now both the brothers were attacking the zombies with their arrow and making sure that none of the zombies arrived by the front or the back door. After about 2 hours they were out of arrows and now the zombies on the roads near their house were also very few in number ,so they both gathered in the centre and took a sigh of relief . Jason took out two water bottles from his inventory and handed one to his brother and said – "Good work bro ,now drink up and rest for some time I will keep watch". Arden drank the water and the quickly dozed off on the carpet they had put in the centre of their terrace , as he was very much exhausted. Jason opened his stats screen and saw that he had 10 undistributed stat ,he got to level 3 after killing 30 zombies .He put 5 of the stats in strength and 3 in agility ,he left the remaining two stats undistributed . Jason then started to check the notification which he couldn't look at when he was fighting the zombies , their was a notification saying "A title has been awarded" . He read the notification ** Title : Zombie killer , for your amazing feat of killing 20 zombies you have been awarded this title . Title benefits - +10 attack damage when fighting against zombies , -10 damage receive when fighting against zombies. 100 gilds will be awarded **. Their were more similar notifications such as **Congrats on being the first to kill more than 20 monsters ,You have been awarded with an item "Hunter's Dagger " and 100 gilds** | **Your proficiency in archery has reached 20 , "Bullseye " Title received , your arrows will be more accurate now and your vision has become more clear** | **Skill Untouchable received, you have successfully killed more than 20 monsters while receiving zero damage ,skill duration: 1 minute ,effect: when activated, you will receive 20% less damage ,cooldown : 1 hour **. Now he checked how much gilds he has acquired and was surprised by the fact that after various achievement rewards and zombie kill rewards he had a total of 1K gilds ,he quickly purchased 100 more arrows and also bought 2 recovery potion which costed 200 gilds each . Now he was left with 700 gilds and stopped his shopping.

After a while of checking out the stats and his items he went over to look at what was happening around and saw that their were military vehicles and officers all around and only 1 or 2 zombies left, which were being shot down too. Now he was getting bored since there was nothing much to do so he started doing some push ups to kill some time. To his surprise ,he was now able to do 50 reps without much effort ,he realised that his strength stat was 10 now .He continued doing Push ups and started to feel some effort after doing 200 repetitions but was still able to reach 300 ,now his whole body was shaking but he still kept on going and did 20 more ,to his surprise their was a notification of +1 Strength. He then realised that exercising and other activities may have an effect on his stats too. He took some rest and then did 4 sets more , after the 4th set he was exhausted and was unable to move his hands around much ,his Strength stat was now 15 . Feeling tired after such a heavy workout he fell asleep . But his sleep did not last long as he was woken up by his brother soon. It was night time now and the tutorial was going to go for 6 more hours .They bought two lamp from the shop for 5 gild each and put them around themselves to fight the darkness. A sudden message popped up in front of both of them ** Good Work surviving for this long, now it is time for the real Survival .As it is night time now ,the undead will be having more power and the amount of Zombies spawning will be doubled . ENJOY : ) **. As soon as he completed reading the message ,there was a loud BANG!! Noise . They headed to the edge of the terrace to look what was happening and saw that a huge swarm has just appeared and had destroyed a military jeep. The brothers started to fire again ,this time their speed was pretty quick as they were killing 2-3 zombies per second combined. Jason was killing 1 or 2 per second as he has raised his agility stat previously ,but Arden was also killing 1 zombie per second. But even after all this they couldn't stop the horde from reaching to their front door, but hopefully they had already put up traps near the front door ,which was activated as soon as the horde rushed to the front door. BOOM!! The trap went off in a chain reaction and all the zombies which were left died instantly ,as the front door traps were laid down by Jason, only he got the exp points from the horde wipe out. A new notification popped up telling him that he has achieved a new feat of killing 100 monsters and he was also the first one to achieve this ,he was rewarded with 1000 gilds. He has also reached Level 5 after killing all these zombies and had 10 more undistributed stats ,making it a total of 12 undistributed stats. He was overjoyed with this fact and went to the shop to buy some new gear but suddenly there was a blast near their back door ,the brothers headed immediately towards the back side of the terrace and saw that the horde their was much bigger than in the front as there were still more than 100 zombies alive and they started to enter through the back door. Jason quickly ordered his brother Arden to put all of his stat into agility and try to stop as many zombies as he could from entering through the back door. Arden was also now at level 5 as he gained experience from the backdoor traps ,so now he had a total of 20 undistributed stats as he had not distributed any stats previously ,he put all his stats in agility at once and now his agility was at 26 . Arden started shooting at the zombies at an alarming speed ,killing 5 zombies per second , meanwhile Jason has lit the oil that they had spread at the ground floor and the furniture which was kept at the door also started burning ,making it harder for the zombies to enter and also killing some of them in the process. With the help of Arden's amazing speed ,the brothers were able to kill the rest of zombies easily too, now it was time for them to count their gains. They had accumulated around 2000 gilds each and now went on a shopping spree ,they used their left over electric traps in the places where they had put the fire traps , meanwhile Jason's attention went on a unique item. The item was named fire artillery and had a cost of 1500 gilds , the item was used as a firewall as it can be placed near an area and it would defend that area by firing fire bullets which dealt +10 attack damage , and it also had a fire rate of 5 bullet per second ,the brothers immediately bought 1 each and placed it near the front end and back end of the terrace. Now they could rest without much care for the remaining 5 hours of the tutorial.
