~Marissa~
"Listen, Bianca," I began, my voice firm and unwavering. "I propose a challenge. If I win, you must apologize to me for your behavior. But if you win, you can ask me for something within my capabilities."
Bianca's smirk faltered for a moment, her brow furrowing in confusion. It was clear she hadn't expected me to suggest a challenge, let alone one with stakes as high as these.
"You're on," she replied after a moment, her voice oozing with confidence. "But don't expect me to go easy on you, Marissa. I plan on winning this."
I nodded, accepting her challenge without hesitation. This was my chance to prove myself, to show Bianca—and everyone else—that I was not to be underestimated.
"Very well," I said, my tone resolute. "Let's settle this once and for all."
With that, I squared my shoulders, preparing myself for whatever challenge Bianca had in mind. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I was determined to emerge victorious, no matter the cost.
As we prepared to face off, the crowd around us grew silent, anticipation hanging thick in the air. All eyes were on us, waiting to see who would be the true warrior queen.
Still, Violet and her gang were muttering curses, and I paid little to no attention to them because they were honestly not worthy of my reaction.
Bianca did not, however, provide me with any additional notice beyond her quick and precise movements and her strategic and lethal punches. However, I did not back down and delivered strikes to her with equal vigor. I could feel the adrenaline rushing through my blood with every exchange, enhancing my senses and enabling me to move more quickly. Bianca was skilled, but I was equally skilled, matching her strike for blow as we danced a deadly circle around one another.
However, after that, things changed. I could feel Bianca's energy rising as she landed a particularly strong blow. She changed right in front of my eyes, her body bending and rearranging till she finally appeared in front of me as a sleek, fearsome wolf, before I could even react.
My mouth dropped at what I saw, temporarily bewildered and unable to process what was happening. But I knew there was no time to waste as Bianca launched herself at me with all of her newly acquired strength and speed. I fought back with all the power and bravery I could muster, but it was obvious that I was no match for her in this shape. I had a hard time keeping up with her because of her extraordinary power and agility. Bianca had changed into a monster of sheer might and instinct, and as her strikes became more frequent, I could feel the power gap between us increasing. It was becoming more and more obvious that I was losing this struggle with every second that went by.
I was overcome with intense resentment—not just toward Bianca but also toward Tristan and Violet—after coming to this realization. How they all went out of their way to plan my downfall.
I was desperate to find a way out, so I looked for any gap in Bianca's defenses, any chance to tip the scales in my favor. Despite my best efforts, I was unable to identify any weakness or opening in her defenses.
And that was the moment when I heard their voices—the voices of Tristan and Violet—insincerely suggesting that Bianca stop. Their words dripped with false concern, but it ended with a flame of mockery amongst my classmates.
"A failed Omega transformation," Violet sneered, her voice dripping with disdain. "How pathetic."
My world crumbled beneath my feet, and I just wanted it to open up and swallow me. Being labeled as a failure was the ultimate insult, especially for someone like me—a warrior wolf who had always prided herself. To be reduced to this, to be pitied and mocked by those who once respected me, was more than I could bear.
I forged myself for the blow, ready for the inevitable pain that would follow, as Bianca sprang at me again, her claws shining in the faint light of the corridor.
However, as soon as I shut my eyes and braced myself for the worst, a flurry suddenly broke out behind us. The sound of footsteps slamming onto the flooring reached my ears, getting louder by the second.
Subsequently, I caught a glimpse of Dominic darting toward us, his eyes brimming with rage. Dominic moved with such grace as he approached us that I was in complete awe. He moved fluidly between Bianca and me, his body obstructing her way like a shield.
"Enough, young lady; you’re going to get in trouble because of this.”
Everyone knew better to argue with him because he could literally expel you from the school and make sure that nobody accepted your admission again.
“But sir, she started.”
“I don’t care! Shifting into a wolf in the middle of school hours is forbidden.” He reminded her of the constitution, and she immediately went silent.
While all of this was going on, all I could think of was that my plan of using my student ID to summon him had worked. I couldn't help but feel a rush of gratitude towards him for coming to my aid.
Thinking that it was finally over, Dominic's gaze shifted towards Tristan, his eyes ablaze with fury. I watched with bated breath, my heart pounding in my chest, as Dominic's intense stare bore into Tristan's bewildered expression.
Tristan's voice broke the tense silence, his tone filled with confusion. "Uncle Dominic, what are you doing here?" he asked, his eyes darting between Dominic and me.
Sensing an opportunity, I stepped forward and took Dominic's hand in mine, a mischievous smile playing on my lips. Everyone’s gaze followed my actions, and I was just about to use curiosity to kill the nosey cats.
"Dominic is here because he's my new boyfriend," I declared, my voice ringing with confidence. "And from now on, Tristan, you will refer to me respectfully as 'auntie'."
My revelation was met with nearly total stillness, punctuated only by a few gasps of surprise from our students. I was aware that my announcement had taken everyone by surprise, but I was not going to back down.
Tristan's lips dropped open in shock as his countenance changed from perplexity to.
"Your... your boyfriend?" He mumbled.
With a small smile on my lips, I nodded. I answered, "That's right," in a tone fueled by vengeance. "And I suggest you start addressing me properly, nephew."
The word 'nephew' felt strange on my tongue, but I relished the power it gave me over Tristan. After everything he had put me through, he deserved to be put in his place, and I was more than happy to oblige.
A feeling of joy swept over me as Tristan's face turned the color of liver at my declaration. The mutterings surrounding us intensified, and I delighted in the attention, having an unusual sense of fulfillment. Knowing that I had the upper hand, it was thrilling to see Tristan writhe under the burden of his shame. Dominic took his hand away from mine as I was savoring the moment. I started to get panicked because I thought he was going to leave me in the middle of this audacious deed. I had bet everything on this confrontation, so the idea of dealing with the fallout alone was too much for me to handle.
I begged Dominic silently to at least help me complete this act because I was so desperate. I could only hope that he would stick by my side until the very end, even though I knew it was asking too much of him. I was relieved that Dominic simply grinned and remained by the principal, but I didn’t expect the next line of events.
I prepared myself to receive my punishment as the principal's voice broke through the noise and grabbed everyone's attention. I knew that anything the principal had to say would definitely affect how our previous argument turned out. With a voice that demanded attention, the principal indicated, "To all students and faculty, I am pleased to introduce your new combat class instructor, Dominic."
Excuse me?! Who? To say I was dumbfounded would be an understatement.
