CHAPTER TWO

LILY

My dad and I left the house yesterday night because we knew that they were coming for us.

I didn't have enough money on me as I could only gather the little cash I kept under my mattress at home it wasn't much but could keep us for two to three days.

We took a cab to another side of the city hopefully we would think and plan the next step we were going to take Luckily Mr Flinch a good friend of my dad's didn't live too far away so my dad suggested we see him maybe we could spend the night there.

On getting to his front door I couldn't help but wonder how someone could live in such a dilapidated house at the second knock he opened the door and he seemed quite surprised to see us but he let us in anyway.

My dad explained our situation to him and asked if we could stay a day or two until we think of a better alternative he was kind enough to offer us his spare room

the room wasn't in the best condition but we were grateful nonetheless.

“Lily I know you must be so disappointed in me right now and you have every right to be”

I didn't know what to tell him because I was disappointed.

“ Dad I don't know what to say this is all too much. My life as I know it is gone we don't have money food or our house anymore and now we are on the run like criminals. We have nothing how did you even get involved with the mafia in the first place You know who Matteo Villetti is he rules the city we are now his property”.

“I'm the one who owes Matteo Viletti money, not you Lilly”.

“So what do I just pack up and leave you I can't do that you are all I have they must be a way out of this I'm sure if we just think this true there must be something we can do”.

“ Lilly Mateo villetti is not someone to mess with. I'm sure if he gets hold of me he'll have my head served on a plate That is what he does to people”.

“This isn't right he can be this cruel”.

“I know and I wish I had done better by you. you don't deserve all of this I'm such a failure please forgive me”. my dad broke down crying I had never seen him this broken before and at that moment I realized that he was just human there was nowhere I was going to let my Dad go through this alone whatever it was I still love him.

And then an idea came to my head.

“ What if I go to Mr. Viletti himself And I plead with him I'm sure he'll give us a little more time”

“ What are you even saying you want to go to the lion's den?”

“we have no other option we can only stay here for a day or two max then where are we going to go and how are we going to survive we barely have any money left we have no other choice”.

“ No, you are not going anywhere that is final now I don't want to hear another word about this”.

But I couldn't sleep that night how could I With everything that happened to us these past two days there was nowhere I could sleep tossing and turning all night I knew I had to do something I had to go and see Matteo Viletti myself maybe he hear me out.

Knowing my dad would not let me go in the wee hours of the morning I sneaked out and left the house.

With the little money I had, I ordered a ride to Azul Estate that was where Matteo viletti lived a place feared by many it was rumored that nobody went in and came out alive or in one piece, but as it was we were as good as dead it would only take a few days fo matteo villetti men to find us and get rid of us for good. Going to meet him was a very huge risk and no one even knew what he looked like some say he was old and wrinkled with a long scar under his right eye, he must look very hideous.

On getting to the estate gate there were barricades and about six men by the gate.

One of the men asked if I had lost my way and I told him I wanted to see Matteo viletti then they all looked at each other and laughed.

“Young lady ill suggest you go play elsewhere this isnt a place you should be around”.

“Im not leaving here till i see mr villetti”. I insisted

“Look miss…….”.

“Just tell him Will cooper’s daugher wants to see him, please”i begged there was no way i could go back now i had already come too far.

The man turned around and made a call and the gates were open for me and I walked into the lion's den.

The estate was a sight to behold the expansive grounds had well manicured gardens there was a large pool as well as a helipad the house itself was magnificent.

I was led up the stairs to an office which im sure belonged to mr villetti.

“You can now go in ,mr villetti will see you now” one of the guards said and i walked in ,my hands shaking tremendously.

Entering the office the chair was turned away from me so i could not see his face.

”You Really do have some nerve coming here”

“I had no choice”

And that was when he turned to face me and my jaw hung open because matteo villetti was the most beautiful man i have ever seen.
