Today, July 4th, Madison's get-together begins at 1 pm.
“Happy July 4th!” I greeted my mother and brother in the living room.
“Same to you, dear,” Mom said, kissing my cheek. “Excited for later?”
“Yes! Are you sure you don’t want to come?”
“Very sure. Samantha and I have plans. You all go have fun,” she replied.
“I’ll miss you when you go camping,” Josh pouted.
“I’ll be back before you know it and will call you when I can,” I promised.
“You better,” he chuckled.
Madison told me yesterday that her two cousins from Paris wouldn’t be coming due to a big summer shoot. Carmella is coming to the party, but Maya has already left for her grandparents, so I won’t see her.
I made breakfast and ate it while watching TV with Mom and Josh. Then, the phone rang.
