Kindel never knew this would happen to her; that Travis would try to kill her. He was abusive, yes, but he always apologized and said he loved her. Kindel didn't see that he was doing anything wrong until it was too late. He had conditioned her and made her feel like everything was Kindel's fault, even though he was the one that was wrong. The abuse got worse when Travis drank, and he drank like a fish. One day while we were at a party and he was drinking, he saw Kindel talking to some guys that she went to school with. She was laughing and smiling, and he took that as her flirting. Travis went to her and gave her a deep kiss and then asked Kindel, "Will you go with me to a little spot that I know about in the truck? It will be very romantic; I promise." Travis took her in his Chevrolet truck after telling everyone that they would be right back. He drove to a secluded spot where no one would hear what he was about to do. They got in the back of the truck and put a blanket on the truck and put the blanket down and sat on it. To begin with, he was quite affectionate, and they shared a picnic. She tried to block his hits, but she couldn't. Travis then kicked her too. He was trying to kill her. What did she ever do to him to hate her? After Travis finished pounding Kindel with his fist, he went to a big rock and hit her repeatedly. A wave of terror washed over Kindel, leaving her frozen. He kept her in the back with a tarp over Kindel and drove back to the party. She was rolling around and disoriented because of how many times he hit and kicked her. He was driving crazy, and she still doesn't know how we didn't crash. When they got back to the party, Travis lifted the tarp and said, "Oh, you didn't die yet." Then, he got back in the truck and backed up to the other cars and put his tailgate down. He pulled Kindel down the tailgate of his truck, and she ended up rolling out, which is what he wanted. Before he got in the truck to leave, he said, "Do not tell anyone what happened or I will kill you!" Travis drove forward, stayed there for a few more minutes, then reversed and tried to hit Kindel. He missed her because she rolled over so that he missed her . Kindel ended up using the rest of her energy, and she passed out. No one discovered her during her unconsciousness since she was still in the same spot and suffering great pain when she regained consciousness. Kindel started trying to yell for help. At first, she could talk because of everything that had happened, but then she tried to swallow twice. Then she yelled again, "Help, help, help me!" The partygoers started searching for the sound, and that is when they found her. They gasped at what they saw and cried out a little. She knew then that the damage was way worse than she thought. They called 911 and sat with her until paramedics arrived. They asked me questions like "Who did this to you?" or "Do you know what happened to you?" Kindel was so nervous that this was a test and that Travis sent these people to make sure that she would behave and not tell anyone what happened between us like she was told to do. She made sure that she said no; she knew nothing. The paramedics assessed her and saw that she needed to be hurried. They gave her something for pain because she had internal bleeding, broken bones, and many bruises. They put in an IV to give her medication as well. When they rolled her over and lifted Kindel onto the stretcher, it hurt. She thought she was going to pass out again. She was breathing really hard , and it hurt to breathe, so she knew she had broken a rib or two. When they made it to the hospital, they again asked her, "What happened?" and "Who did this?" She told them she didn't know. They looked at her, and she could tell that they didn't believe her. They then said that the police can't help if they don't have any information. Two detectives entered and introduced themselves. To them, she mentioned her ignorance regarding the incident and its origin. She started crying because she knew that if she talked, he would kill her. She also felt obligated to tell the police everything; not just because it's against the law to lie to the cops, but because they are trying to help her with her case. The medical team was rushing and seeing what was wrong with Kindel. They explained an MRI was necessary to determine if she had any broken bones. After Kindel completed the MRI, the medical team reported back an hour later. They revealed she had fractured three ribs, her right arm, and her right leg. The doctor said that she required surgery to repair both damaged limbs. The doctor said, "I will schedule your surgery for later today." After he left, she got so upset. How could he do this to her? She used to feel that she deserved the hitting; that she had done something wrong, and he had to teach her a lesson. Now, since he tried to kill her, she felt like he was at fault; not her. After thinking for a little while , the detectives who had seen her before came in. The anticipation of their comments filled her with fear. They looked at her sympathetically. She was told by them they had interviewed several party guests who claimed they had observed her boyfriend and her. Because they never saw us come back, Travis is the last person who saw her. She didn't know what to say. Does she say, "I don't know what y'all are talking about," or does she tell them the truth? She finally told the truth. Kindel didn't know if they would believe her, but after she explained everything, they said, "Other partygoers and your friends have verified most of what you described." "Since no one saw the attack, we must take your statement and have you testify if it becomes necessary." We will also put someone outside your door so Travis can't do it again. We have to find evidence he abuses Kindel. Did you tell anyone or document the abuse?Kindel responded with, "No."
