Carter picked up the call and he was silent for a moment trying to calm all his nerves and hoping that all his suspicions were wrong. That’s by he didn’t start screaming at the person on the other head. Although deep down he knew that his assumptions weren’t baseless, and Damon being his first class friend was what made him for the first time wish that he was never friends with him.
And all of this just didn’t come from this incident only, a few years ago Damon had been involved in a court battle where he was accused of abuse, but that time they may have used their wealth and managed to clear away the evidence, which was one of the very many reasons Carter assumptions led to this.
