The truck drove away, leaving Taylor on the doorstep of Melissa’s childhood home. Taylor walked back to his car, trying to wrap his head around what had just happened. When he left New York he was sure that Melissa would take him back, if they were even broken up. The couple had arguments that got blown out of proportion every now and then. They wouldn’t talk for a few days but after the initial anger had passed, they talked things over and everything went back to normal. Taylor had thought if he came back and apologized for his behavior that he and Melissa would work it out like they usually did.
