After scanning the crowd on the dance floor, he finally spotted Abby and her dance partner. It was the best man from the wedding, Dorian. Damn, that guy moved fast. Jeremy steeled himself, he was going to take matters into his own hands. He may have messed things up five years ago, but he was going to fix his mistakes now. He wasn’t going to stand by and watch someone else make her happy without at least taking his shot.
The song ended as he walked through the dancers toward Abby and Dorian. They didn’t notice him approaching. When he was right next to them he cleared his throat, “may I cut in?” Abby turned to him in surprise. He wondered what she was thinking. Dorian looked between the two of them and answered, “Of course.” He turned to Abby, “I look forward to seeing you soon.”
