Arlene I leaned back in my chair, exhaling a slow breath as I tried to push Liam from my thoughts. Focus, Arlene. I wasn’t going to let him take up any more of my mind. “Go on with the report,” I instructed Matilda, forcing my voice to remain neutral. She nodded and scrolled through her tablet. “Everything has been set in motion for the launch.” Good. Progress. But then she hesitated. Her gaze lifted toward me, her expression shifting slightly. “Your information was uploaded.” I frowned, looking up from my desk. “What information?” “The update about your disappearance for the past five years.” Matilda watched me closely, her voice laced with curiosity. “Did you order the change?” I held her stare for a moment before nodding. “I did.” I could see the questions forming in her mind.
