He places me in the passenger seat and stuffs a smoke in my mouth and lights it. Then he gets in on his side and does the same. We pull out of the garage and reverse up to another garage where aspen walks out head to toe in oil. She pulls a boiler suit off and wipes her face with a rag then jumps in the back.

"Ohhh give me one of those sister"

I smile and hand her the packet.

"So I'm your sister?"

I smile at her

"Yes you're definitely cool enough to be"

I smile at her words then look back at her.

"So when will I get my wolf? When will I shift? How much is it going to hurt? How do I transition into a banshee or a hell hound?"

"Jezzz take a breath there love"

Arden chuckles and shakes his head I blush slightly

"Sorry. But seriously answer them please?"

He sighs and seems to think.

"You will probably start hearing your wolf tonight and transition tomorrow. Not sure how you end up as a banshee but the hellhound one sucks but you sleep through it. Our uncle transitioned and my aunt was trying to get him outside before he burned the place down and they dropped him down a flight of stairs and he didn't even flinch"

I snort and laugh as we pass patrols.

"Yeah I'm guessing I'm a lot smaller than him so please down throw me down stairs"

He takes my hand and kisses it

"Never. Plus We have the pool so I'll just hold you in there"

"But if I burst into flames I'll hurt you"

I panic at the thought. He lifts my hand up and links our fingers together then his hand bursts into flames and I scream in shock but it passes quickly when I realise it doesn't hurt.

"How?"

"The mark on your hand. It connects us. I can't burn you. No hellhound can and a banshee scream won't kill you either"

"You should probably write this information all down in a little book so I can get all the information in one go"

"Well actually you're our first human, we had aunt Ciara but she was a witch and just a werewolf. So you are our first human"

Aspen sits forward and says

"And do you both scream?"

She nods up and down

"Yes but Ardens is stronger than mine and my fire is stronger than ardens. But we can both scream fire. Like mum had to scream over dads ignited hand to spread his fire we just have to roar it's actually very cool"

"And everytime we scream around the dead bodies we collect their souls and they make us stronger. It's why mum was the alpha of alphas she could and still can put a room full of alpha on there ass with just a sentence, strip people of their titles."

Arden adds as I point in the direction of my grans house and suddenly I'm afraid. What if I turn up and nobody found them? What if I turned up and they were still laying here dead and decaying. Or if the place is sold. Suddenly sadness hits me and I point down different roads

"What's wrong?"

"What if he's still lying there dead. What if no one found them"

He seems to freeze and he looks back at aspen

"Did they have neighbours? Friends?"

"The month we stayed there in Hiding, not one person came to the house. The postman dropped the letters at the end of the road."

We drive in silence the rest of the way. It only takes 20 minutes to get there. As we pull up I jump out and check the mailbox. It's empty. As we drive down the lane my heart starts to beat so fast I think it's going to fly out of my chest. Everything looks the same but messier. The front door is open and grandpa's truck is on the street. As we stop I'm stuck. Completely rooted to the car.

"Come I'll carry you"

I nod and force myself from my seat and onto Ardens lap. He lifts me out of the car and we walk towards the house. As we step up on the porch the door swings open and suddenly there's a double barrel shotgun in my face and we freeze

"Gran?"

I was in shock. Shock that she was alive. Shock that she survived.

"Fayfay is that you?"

She dropped the gun slightly and adjusted her glasses.

"Oh gran your alive I thought they killed you to"

I get down of Ardens arms and I pull her into a hug.

"Fay fay where have you been? Oh i've been so worried"

"I escaped. I thought you were all dead. Arden brought me to get a photo album and dad's car. I can't believe you're alive"

"Alive and kicking young one. Come in, come in, I missed the company so much. Now tell me who is this handsome young man you have at your beck and call he looks to good to be true"

Arden and Aspen snort and laugh then he puts his hand out.

"Arden moon, I'm fays— Eh"

"He's my mate grandma, come on Arden she's lived here her whole life do you really think she didn't know about you all"

"Well now that's why he's so handsome. Are you one of those mangy rogues?"

Arden and aspen laugh loudly

"No, definitely not that. I'm alpha of a pack close by"

"How's about I make the tea and you 3 get acquainted"

Aspen says pointing to the living room, Gran pats her hand and sits down.

"That would be lovely dear thank you. Now fay fay tell me what happened. You saved my life. They were just about to kill me when you fired that gun and they chased after you. That's when I grabbed my gun and locked myself in the bathroom. Dirty rotten bastards. I wish they would have come back I was ready for them"

I told gran everything, we cried, we laughed and by the time it was time to go I didn't want to leave her. And I was afraid that they would come back and kill her because I ran away

"We are still looking for the men that did this and I'm wondering would you come stay with us until we do?"

Arden said to her and my heart filled with hope. She shook her head

"No no, I'm fine here"

"Gran please. Just until they catch them."

"No, all I ask is that you give me a ring so I know you're ok."

"Well would you mind if I had some men come and stay here. Or woman. Just to make sure you're safe until they are caught. They can camp out front. It would be a load of my mind if you did"

"Aren't you so kind. Well maybe some eye candy wouldn't be such a bad thing but there will be no camping. They can stay in fay fays room."

I hugged her. I pull her into me so tight and I never want to let her go. Her warmth surrounds me and her scent reminds me off better times.

"Thank you. And I promise they will be smoking hot"

She laughs and pulls my head to her and kisses my cheek. Then she gasps

"He marked you. Oh sweety your practically married to the boy. Will this mean you can turn into a wolf to"

"Yes. But it hasn't happened yet. Maybe tomorrow"

"Well when you do I want you to come back and show me yourself"

I nod happy. By the time i've gathered a few pictures up and stuff that I had left behind the warriors on grandma duty had arrived. Gran whistled when they walked in and made a them do a little twirl. She had everyone in stitches laughing and I was glad that she had someone to stay with her and keep her company.

And my gran was a very modern woman. She owned a smartphone and had Netflix and she loved to watch a good romcom so it wouldn't be boring living with her. Aspen got the car up and running and she followed us home. I was so tired

"That was the best day ever. I can't believe she is alive"

"She's brilliant"

Arden shook his head and chuckled. Probably thinking about all the pickup lines she threw at him.

"She really is, isn't she? Have they found the cabin yet?"

Suddenly I wanted them caught and captured soon. I didn't want them to target my gran so if I had to go back there I would.

"No. There's a lot of cabins"

"Ok. So let's go. We won't stop but I'll show you the one then you can catch them and gran will be safe"

"Fay you don't need to"

"I know, but I want to Arden. Please?"

He studied me for a minute then sighed and nodded. He did that weird thing with his eyes as I stuck a smoke in his mouth.

"Who did you link?"

"Some warriors to come with us. We tell them where the cabin is and then we leave and let them handle it. Deal?"

"Deal"

I wasn't going to argue. I didn't want to go near them or their cabin but if I could help them capture them I know I would worry about Nan less. I smoked my fag in silence and we arrived at the road and were met with 2 jeep loads of warriors. I smiled and waved at them as we passed.

My heart started to thump in my chest as we got closer to the cabin. I didn't realise how far I had driven that night but my adrenaline was pumping through my veins. After around 40 minutes I got Arden to slow down. I recognised the road as it got skinnier. I pointed down a dirt road and suddenly the cabin came into view.

"There it is"

Arden growls but I grab his hand and he pulls me onto his knee and he holds me. He does the weird eye thing and soon warriors jump out of the Jeep's and head towards the house.

I pressed the lock button on the car as fear of coming face to face with them scared the daylights out of me. I light a fag and lay against Ardens chest and we watched the warriors move in and surround the place. I watch as they bust the door down and pile in and I wait anxiously to see if they are there.

Ardens POV

since seeing her grandma alive and well it's like Fay had gotten a new wave of self esteem. She gave her confidence. And honestly her Nan was an amazing funny woman. My men will dote on her and I'm sure she will have plenty of fun with them.

But when Fay said she wanted to show us where the cabin was, I was terrified yet so proud. She had come so far in such a short time and I feared it would set her back but also if something happened to her gran she would suffer greatly so I took the risk and I drove the road I promised I wouldn't drive. In the end I was glad she showed us because it's so far off the beaten track I'm not sure we would ever find it. I don't think she even realised how far away it was. But when it came into view I growled and bás was trying to get out but I couldn't leave her. I wouldn't. Instead she climbed on my knee and I held her and we watched. Her tiny body calms Bás and me instantly. I take a few deep calming breaths as she fumbles with the lock and a smoke. I opened the link to the head warrior Conor.

Me

Is there anyone there?

Conor

Yes I think there is at least one inside

I watched as they burst through the doors and piled into the small cabin.

Conor

1 in here

Me

Good. Bring him to the cellar and chain him up and throw some wolfsbane over him. Leave some warriors there and let me know if anyone comes back.

Conor

Yes alpha

"They have one of them."

Her eyes meet mine then they go back to the door. They pull one of them from the house. He was the kinder of the 3. Or he was the day they maimed her anyway.

"Donny"

She growls as they pull him from the house. She starts to tremble in fear. Her heart beats so fast I think it's about to explode so I pull her tight to me and kiss her mark.

"I'll kill anyone that tries to hurt you. Remember?"

"You'll kill them. You won't let them hurt me you will kill them all if you have to"

I rub my hand up and down her back as she leans on my chest. Donny is pulled down the lane but when he gets close he sniffs the air and growls looking directly at fay. She sits up straighter and never breaks eye contact. Conor punches him in the face and kicks the back of his legs and growls grabbing his hair

"You dare touch our queen. You'll f*****g pay for what you did to her"

Donny's eyes widen at the word queen and his eyes goes from her to me. I growl a real rumbling growl. Bás was so close to the surface if I didn't have fay on my knee he would have taken over by now. Fay turns in my arms and pulls my face around to hers then she kisses me. Bás settles down straight away and starts to purr under her touch. But Donny lost it and started to thrash and go crazy. She frowns and looks at him then back at me and smirks then kisses me again.

"Mine"

He roared and she froze and looked at him.

"Why did he say that? He's not my mate?"

"No he's just a f*****g Loony toon. We are 2 half's of 1"

I link our fingers together and she kisses me again. I smirk when Donny loses it again. Conor was enjoying his reaction. He must be truly f*****g crazy.

"Can we go home I'm hungry"

"Of Course baby. Conor will put him in a cell and he can rot their until we decide to deal with him"

"Can I stay on your knee while you drive?"

Her voice is so small when she asks but I smirk and kiss her.

"Get comfortable. Let's go home"

"What are we going to do with him?"

She asks me. I shrug

"What do you want to do?"

"Get strong and hurt him. But we should let him rot until then. Pour melted silver on him or something"

I snort that's not actually a bad idea.

"We have all the time in the world love. Just think of something and in the meantime I'll make you strong"

"Thank you"

She whispers and rests her head on my chest. I loved how she curled her body into a tiny ball and lay on me. She was so delicate and beautiful and she was all mine. We made it home and I carried a yawning fay from the car to the kitchen where everyone was for dinner.
