For a moment everything went dark in front of me. My eyes reddened at the thought that Bridge and I would meet our end.
I thought of all I could do for Bridge and failed to accomplish. However, just as I was about to close my eyes and accept what was coming, my eyes shifted to Thalia, who was suddenly in the form of a beast. Her clear eyes now had a black iris with gold and red rims.
In a matter of seconds, her massive claws tore through each of the shadows, sending droplets of putrid black blood onto the ground and tree trunks.
I was completely dumbfounded to see the king's innocent maiden turned into the most feared beast in the world.
