Chapter-2 'WHY'

'Wait, what just happened?!' My eyes were still closed; I hadn't expected it to end so quickly; all I could think was,
'WHY?'
-Why did he leave me half-kissing?
-why did he kiss me?
-why do I expect him to continue the kiss?
-why did this happen to me?
-Why am I feeling so vulnerable right now?
I slugged down the wall, 'why didn't he keep kissing me, didn't he like it, wasn't I tasted like before to him? Was there anything he wished he hadn't done?
WHY?
I wished for the kiss to last forever because what I was feeling was polar opposites to what he was doing. It was as if all of the memories of 'US-together' returned to me, and I immediately opened my eyes, realising how ridiculous I was acting and how ridiculous this feeling was.
I shouldn't feel that way because whatever we had was in the past and will never be our present or future.
we aren't meant for each other, and eventually, he will marry someone else, which everyone knows, it's all over between me and him... then suddenly I heard someone yelling my name,

"Sihin," Alaina yelled.
I wiped my tears and walked out, only to see Alaina in the middle of the hallway looking for me, "Sih.." she yelled.
"Ala," I said waving my hand from the door, "there you are." She rushed up to me and said, "What are you doing here? It's very dark, and I was worried you'd get lost and end up somewhere and see" She shook her head.
Thanks, Heaven! the only source of light was coming from the moon, and lights from the distant mansion, so she couldn't see my face, which may appear horrifying due to my crying.
I chuckled slightly at how worried she appeared, and as we began walking, she wailed, "Stop it, I was truly worried about you, I assumed he was with you the whole evening, that's when I saw Athen and Adelaide dancing together," and I looked down upon hearing his name. And the idea of them dancing together made me uneasy.
She slowed after two steps, probably realising her words had an effect on me?!
"I mean, I was stupid enough to think that," she laughed at herself.
"I couldn't agree with you more on your last line, you are," I joked, and she smiled, wanting to say more, but she didn't,
so I continued "well you don't have to worry much about me, I am no longer a baby" I joked, "come on, i know how naive you are, and i can't let you get lost in this place because you know there are a lot of terrible lads here in this party," she said, winking her eyes. Her remark made me laugh.
We reached the mansion, the sound of people and music became louder.
"We're here." She smiled saying, Lifting my gaze, I noticed a few people dancing beautifully in each other's arms, a few chattering, sipping wines, a few hitting on each other, and a few lost in their thoughts, much like Sharon LoL. Thinking about her i chortle,
Alaina looked at me and as she was about to ask something when, "Here you are" Matthew approached and held alania's hand, they hugged, he smiled at me saying "you too, I didn't saw you since the party started"
"I went to find her, guess what?! She was lost in the farmhouse " Alaina said chuckling, I laughed saying "I wasn't lost actually" as i was saying i noticed Alania was watching me carefully, and i could see the concern in her eyes.
Matthew cracked up, saying "fine, now it's time for dance, so let's go Alaina, and Sihin you need to find a partner for yourself I am reserved today," he said winking, Alaina slapped him on the arm, we three laughed together. As they were leaving for the dance, Alania looked at me again, concerned, as if asking, 'Are you okay?' 'I'm fine,' I said with a smile.
Alaina is very special to me. It goes without saying I had no clue when I initially met her that we would become so close and that our friendship would be so strong.
Alaina and Matthew have been together since college and seeing them together for so long strengthen my faith in love. I'm always overwhelmed when I see them together, and I wish them love and companionship for the rest of their lives.
As I watched Matthew and Alaina on the dance floor, my gaze was drawn to other people, and I noticed Athen and Adelaide dancing together in the centre point of the hall. They were moving in sync with the beat of the music.
He was softly holding her waist, she maintained her hand on his shoulder, looking up at him and beaming like a teenager, and he was staring straight with no emotion in his eyes, but then who are we talking about?! He never shows emotions, geez, well, that's what I can see from here; at the moment, she is closer to him, so she can clearly see him, and she is smiling. No one smiles for no reason.
Suddenly, a memory from an hour ago flashed through my mind, and I gulped as I remembered it.
I averted my gaze from them and got distracted by the mellow sound of romantic music was playing in the background, and all the affluent people were dancing royally.
Slowly, everyone moved towards the dance floor, noticing that the entire hall was filled with couples, I was surprised to see Sharon dancing with a guy what, I felt like i was the only one left alone, both of my best friends were dancing and I'm the one watching them dance with their partner, but it's fun smiling
And then I felt a hand on my shoulder, and when I turned around, I saw a gentleman smiling sweetly at me.
