It was almost 7 the city started to go dark. My mind was filled with the thoughts as I was approaching towards the bank, George had found something may be it could lead us to culprits. I saw reporters and media as I made my way through Cordon. I could hear the words reverberating, everyone was desperate to know the details. I went inside and saw Rachel working on the blueprint of
the bank. She started walking towards me but my gaze was shifted to the bunch of security men standing aside the stairs. I remembered vividly they were not here earlier. They even had different uniforms than the other security guard I had seen. Moreover they were having their names on the left side of the shirt with metallic alphabets.
''Sir'' my mind shifted from the guards to Rachel who was carrying the blueprint.
''It's done.'' She said.
''Good! where's George?'' I said.
''There'' she said beckoning me to a room, security cabin maybe. I moved inside the cabin and saw George sitting with two
security men.
''George'' He turned towards me.
''Sir'' He said.
"What you got?'' I asked.
''Sir I was checking the cameras and I found something there.The footage turns all black for two minutes." George said.
''See'' He played the video.
''You are right and it's all blacked out between 2:37PM to 2:39PM. Prima facie it means the heist was done between these two minutes." I said.
''Strange!!'' George said.
''There must be an insider responsible for heist there's no way they didn't know anything.'' I said as George and I got back to staff.
''You can say that.'' George said.
I gathered all the Security team and staff for questioning while waiting for forensics it must be here anytime now. Hitherto, it was all going my way I got some people on my hit list and we had found a clue.
''I hope you all know about the footage now.'' I said and they all nodded in response.
''So there must be someone involved in robbery from you there's no chance of blacken the footage without actually
destroying it unless someone switched it off. I am going to be lenient with you guys so anyone who knows anything can come ahead and tell.'' My voice echoed in whole bank. I waited for 2 minutes and no one said anything as expected.
''Alright, don't be lummox tell me what you know or otherwise you all have to pay".
Still no response. "OK then, the video footage blacken at 2:37 PM. I would like to know who was in the cabinet at that time.'' I said almost shouting. ''At least say something...'' I said angrily.
''I think they all gone deaf maybe I should shot in their ears.'' George said.
''Caroline you go...'' I said.
''Actually, sir there was no one inside at that time.'' She said. I was shocked and reluctant to agree with her words. ''What are you saying Caroline?'' I asked.
''Sir we have a break for 10 minutes everyday between 2:35 to 2:45 PM for lunch and at that time there's no one in the
security cabinet.'' Caroline said unable to meet my eyes.
''That's ridiculous! and who knows about this." George said'
''Just the security staff.'' She said.
I didn't say a word but I formed a firm opinion that the culprit was somehow aware of this stuff. There's always a saying
that Roy & Company had a weird type of security but this was unacceptable.
''And when you went inside the cabinet, was there something sceptical about the cameras or anything.'' I said.
''No it all seemed perfect.'' Caroline replied.
I was lingering on every staff member sometimes nervousness could be easily seen on a crime face but again I focused on the guards with names on their shirts they were very different vis a vis other guards, they were more like bouncers than guards.
There was a hullabaloo outside I looked over there and saw 'Paul the forensic man'.
