You Don't Own Me

Prologue

My name is Cecilia and I once had a happy family. My family once consisted of my father, my mother, my sister Selena and I. Father showered mother in gifts and love, while mother tried her hardest to show him she loved him. But every good thing comes to end, how my family's happiness ended was unexpected.

Father had left for a business trip one foggy day in the fall. We had thought he would be gone for only a few days. But fall soon came to an end, and winter came, we still had no word when my father was coming home. It wasn't until December twenth, early morning the phone rang. My sister Selena and I were in our room asleep. Mother had started screaming starling us awake. We quickly rushed into our parents' room, to find mother collapsed on the floor.

Tears flooded her eyes as she screamed, "He is dead!"

That is when our nightmare had started... specifically my nightmare.
