Chosen By The Last Seer

Chapter Two

The dining table was set for a single person. A middle-aged woman was directing the maids to place the foods. They were in the middle of this when a young guy walked into the living room; A beautiful young adult who was often described as an angel, both in terms of looks and character. He was known as Allen. Well, everyone knew him as Allen, but no one truly know him.

“Morning darling,” replied his mum. “How was your night?”

“Good morning,” said Allen to the middle-aged woman who was his mum.

“I had a good rest,” said Allen. He had a worried look on his face. “Mum, I don’t think I will eat this morning”.

His mother was taken aback. “Why, Allen? I woke up early to supervise the breakfast, and I stayed with the girls while they were preparing the food.” said his mum with a worried expression.

“Of course I know you woke up early, and I apologize about that. I just had a weird feeling about the food when I came into the room. Did you stay with girls the entire time they were cooking?” Allen asked. “Anyway, never mind that. I’ll see you later”. He left his mum standing there with a startled expression. He went out to the main compound and got into his car. His bodyguard, Mike, was standing beside the car, He placed Allen’s white backpack in the passenger's seat.

“Sir, are you sure you don’t want me to drive you today?” asked Mike. “Don’t worry, Mike. Today, I’m going to drive to school by myself. I’m good.” Allen replied with a smile as he took the car key from Mike. He entered the white sports car and drove slowly out of the compound.

Meanwhile, back inside, Allen’s mum was fuming and called out to the girls who were in charge of Allen’s breakfast. “Is no one going to speak out before I fire all of you?” she asked firmly in a booming voice.

Suddenly, one girl cried out, “It was me, Madam,” she fell to her knees ”I… I used the general spoon that was used to mix the sauce this morning. It slipped off my mind, and I wanted you to know about it but I feared being punished. I’m sorry.” she apologized.

“I understand that anyone could have made a mistake, and the next time something like this happens, I want to be informed right away.” All the girls nodded their heads. “We all know that Allen makes use of different things in this house and that he can’t ever share things with anyone. I have informed you all of how dangerous these things are to him,” the woman sighed exasperatedly and continued. “Now, everyone should sit down and eat, and let today be a reminder to be more careful concerning this.”

“We’re sorry ma.” said the girls.

“It’s ok, I understand you. I think we have to sit and eat this alone,” she said with a smile, while the ladies all smiled after her.

Allen is special; special in a larger sense than average people can imagine. Allen has been blessed with unusual abilities: He can the future and also a portion of the past as well; he also can read people’s minds easily. He was born as a Seer, which enabled him to have these abilities. As a Seer, he differs greatly from normal people.

In the past, he used to question his gift, but he soon came to accept that this was who he was. His father and grandfathers before him were all Seers during their lives, but unfortunately they all died at a young age of 30 years. He is 24 years of age and started seeing visions at 7, at a very young age.

Allen is the last Seer who was gifted a longer life than his forefathers. However, he has been forbidden to do some things and some things which he must do; One of those things being him forbidden was not to share utensils with anyone else. As long as someone else has used them, he’s not allowed to use them. It might seem a little hardcore, but disobeying this could lead to temporary loss of his powers. His saliva must never mix with any other person’s own. When his saliva eventually mixes with people, it could affect him from seeing the future, most especially it could easily hurt his throat for an entire week before he heals. When this repeats itself more than twice, that could easily affect his lifespan.

Regardless of the fact that he is only allowed to wear white clothing for most of the week, his fashion is still outstanding. The only day he’s allowed to wear a different colour is Tuesday, while for the remaining six days, he’s obligated to wear white as a Seer. He is also forbidden from wearing the colour red and black, as those could affect his powers as well.

As for romantic relationships, even though Allen has a lot of girls vying for his attention, he has never been involved in one.

Regardless of the fact that he can see the people’s future, one thing he can’t do is to see a vision of himself. He also has a helper given to him for when he needs help; someone sent to Allen as a guardian. Allen refers to him as ‘Elder’
