“Yeah.” She nodded excitedly. “Lots more reds, oranges and pale yellows.”
He chuckled. “Even now you’re still thinking about colours.”
“That’s my life,” she admitted. “And hey, I’m pretty sure you thought about hockey once today.”
“Well, you got me there,” he said. “I did think about how this lake probably doesn’t freeze over in the winter, which means no ice hockey.”
“Look at you go,” Mira laughed.
Eventually, the group stumbled upon a little stream and pond where Daniel and Aaron were already mucking about. Mira dipped her toes in and walked for a bit, Kalmin chatting politely beside her. There were a few times where she slipped on a mossy rock and Kalmin caught her in time, and even once she almost fell backwards and Deimos popped out of nowhere to catch her like a princess. Both
