54 Luther and Les had rigged up a light trailer to the Sheriff’s vehicle—another Pop loaner—and were on the road with the UTV in about fifteen minutes. Les had been quiet since they left Pop’s place. Luther’s mind was going over logistics and watching for the turn off the state road when Les finally asked, out of the blue, “You think that’s why he gave me a girl’s name?” It took Luther a moment to figure out what Les was referring to, although it probably shouldn’t have.
