CHAPTER 10 The returnThe few days it took him to return to the harbour where Othar and the others were, seemed the longest part of his whole journey. He was alone and ashamed, he was missing Baldur, he was impatient to see a friendly face again. At one point he took the wrong route and found himself in strange country. He stood still for some time trying to find some landmark that he recognized. When he failed to do so he retraced his steps gloomily to the point at which the familiar gave way to the unfamiliar, and spent some time working out the possibilities of an alternative direction.
