When she came home on Wednesday, Nicholas was working several cottages over, trimming the hedges. He waved and she returned the gesture. Even from that distance, his smile glowed. She grinned, unable to contain her excitement. One more day! On Thursday, she dashed from the train depot to her cottage. Thirty minutes until her date! And I’ll need all of those thirty minutes. She spent extra time on her hair, fussing with the straight locks. They refused to cooperate. “Come on, I need you to do more than just lie there.
