Love and War

Introduction

Thousands and thousands of years ago, when creatures of the shadow used and hunt humans for their meat, a war in a world far away from ours changed everything. It all started when the demon Deryos, hungry for more power, called back his forces from the human world and decided to attack his allies.

"I want to be the strongest, I want to rule", he screamed while killing and consuming every single demon who did not join his side. His victims, in their desperation, called and cried for their mortal enemies, the angels to come and save them, but their prayers remained unanswered. It was only one man, Heiol, who left heaven and went to see the m******e that shocked their entire universe. Blood and body parts were laying around the whole territory, and standing strong on his throne made of bones, Deryos was ruling over his cruel army.

"His enemies are all dead", Heiol told himself. There was nobody to help anymore. He went to the Heavens to inform his kind about what just happened but the gates were fully locked. Out of fear, perhaps, the angels have already closed any kind of communication with the outside world and abandoned magical creatures and humans forever.

What could our man do, now that he was abandoned by the people he loved the most? He thought about killing himself and setting his soul free to the UnderWorld, but he was afraid of the unknown and, at the same time, he still had hope that he would see the Gardens of Heaven once more. He went to the world of magical creatures, Faeria, and told them about the danger that was coming for them.

The fairies ruled over that land, and their selfish empress, Sylla, was ready to sacrifice her empire for her own life. She called back for her people still in the human world and sealed the gates, leaving behind everyone who was not fast enough. Heiol was afraid for the lives of humans, but Deryos never had any interest in humans anyway. Their meat was not powerful enough to satisfy his anger.

She preached about salvation and lied to everyone, her people and Heiol too, about her intentions. Jealous of demons and their powers, she wanted to be one of them. And this was the perfect chance. She thought that if she offered her first born to the new demon king, he would grant her new powers and make her invincible. 

Not long enough after Heiol's arrival in Faeria, the demon army arrived too. Her plans were revealed soon enough and her own people killed her. "We will not let ourselves defeated", they said. "If we die, we die together", they yelled while she was dying, stabbed by her own soldiers. But just before her last breath, she sealed the gate to the demon world and trapped the creatures of Faeria in an Eternal War still taking place to this day. That was her revenge.
