My eyelids flickered open to greet the sunlight. I closed my eyes again, willing the carousel to return, for my mind to tumble back to dreams, but it didn't. The sun poured through my window. Another day had dawned, bringing with it new hopes and aspirations for many, yet for me, it only seemed to bring gloominess and tragedies. I unwilling sat up and looked beside me to the empty bed. Sighing, I gathered my hair and made a messy bun before wrapping the sheets around my naked body and proceeding to go on a hunt to find myself a dress. It was early, but I had a class too. I was in a dire need of a shower, I literally stank of s*x and c*m. Yes, s*x because Rafe couldn't control himself and f****d me in the middle of the night despite my sour p***y on fire. Grabbing a pair of jeans and full sleeve tee I was about to head to the bathroom when the door to the bedroom opened and there stood the almighty Marcello dressed in a killer suit. His eyes visibly darkened as they raked my barely covered body before he took predatory steps in my direction. "Where are you headed at this time?" He eyed the clothes in my hands before taking a seat at the edge of the bed. I ignored him making my way into the bathroom but he was on his feet and followed me inside. "I asked you something?" He stated coolly, and all my plans to irritate him went down the drain. He didn't react as I expected, he didn't shout or manhandled me. "College," I replied with a shrug, giving up. "Can you not go today? It's dangerous." He requested. "I have important lectures I can't miss," I stated coldly, "besides you're also going out so is it not dangerous for you?" I eyed his suit cladded figure to make a point. "I am glad you care but I have an important meeting." He made an uninterested face. "Whatever." I shook my head at him letting him know how disappointed I was before letting the sheets fall, putting myself on display for him, and entered the shower stall. I was being cranky and I knew it but he deserved that. — When I came down in the living room, it was deserted. I frowned at this time every day I could hear mom, Marie, and the girls laughing or preparing breakfast. My frown deepened as I saw Asher walking inside from the main door with just shorts on. "Aren't you having any class today?" I voiced out my thoughts. He shrugged. "We are told to stay inside." He saw me all dressed up before frowning. "Didn't Rafe tell you?" He asked confused. "Well...." "Let's go. I will drop you." Rafe emerged from his study with car keys in his hands. "Boss you said it's not safe?" Asher asked confused and I just wanted to bang his head on the wall for reasoning with Rafe when I was all dressed up for college. "I cannot deny my fiancee. Now, can I?" He rhetorically said in a playful mood looking at me intensely. "You're just scared of her Rafe. Admit it." Enzo came from behind us biting on an apple. "I am getting late. Aren't you?" I snapped. Not wanting to be a part of some gossip at this early in the morning. "Did you have your breakfast?" Rafe questioned instead of answering. I rolled my eyes, before shrugging. "I am not hungry." "You need to eat. I am not taking you unless you have your breakfast." Rafe sternly stated with finality. I whined. "Rafe I am getting late and I already told you I am not hungry." "I don't care if you're not. Kate must have prepared something for you. Go and eat." He said before shifting his attention to Enzo and Asher who were talking in Italian. Rolling my eyes, I made my way towards the kitchen. Knowing very well he won't drive us until and unless I listen to him. Such a bossy brat. I was halfway through oatmeal porridge when Rafe entered with a familiar face behind him. I had seen that tall guy somewhere. I frowned putting away my half-eaten bowl onto the shelf. "He's from my college right? What's he doing here?" I asked with a furrowed brows "He'll be accompanying you to your college," Rafe stated pointing at that guy in a black leather jacket that was similar to his leathery eyes. "What even Rafe?" I asked offended. He shrugged. "Valenie it's not up for discussion. If you want to go to college Sam will accompany you." He stated leaving no room for an argument. "You know what? I am done with you breathing down my neck all the time. Do whatever the f**k you want just drop me at my college already." I stated rudely before stomping away. I made my way out in the patio where there were a couple of cars parked. That man and his damn security. Just how much protection he needed again. Not seconds later I heard footsteps behind me and Rafe palmed the small of my back pushing me forward into the backseat before following himself. Sam took the passenger seat. I saw him all the time at the campus but never knew he f*****g worked for Rafe. I felt like s**t knowing I didn't even know how many men were keeping eyes on my every single move. The drive was silent, with Rafe scrolling through his emails with one of his hands on my thigh, very close to my core. Damn him. He knew what his fingers do to me and he never fails to take advantage of my vulnerability. As the car came to a sleek halt, Rafe kissed my hand before pressing a kiss to my forehead. "Be safe," he whispered, "for me." I had no reply so I just nodded and got off the car, Sam shutting the door for me. "After you Ms. Baker." He said politely. "Please Sam, call me Valenie," I told and he just nodded. He was elder than me. Even if not, Ms. Baker made me sound old. I made my way into the campus and where my class was held but stopped in my tracks as I felt Sam following me. "You don't have classes?" I asked turning to face him. He was tall and I had to squint my eyes to look up at him due to the sharp rays of the sun. "No." "Cool so you can just do whatever you want but don't follow me," I asked. "I cannot do that Valenie. I have been ordered to follow you everywhere." He looked down, his hands behind his back in respect. "You don't have to do that. I won't tell anybody." I tried but he just shook his head. "I am sorry but I cannot go against the orders." I sighed in pure agony. This was so f*****g impossible. I just shook my head and turned to head into the class. It was useless. I didn't see Garry until I was in the class. I tried waving at him but he just looked away. Strange. Nonetheless, I made my way at the back as that seemed to be the only empty seat. Garry looked upset at something. I needed to find out. In the months we were friends, we didn't sit apart from each other in every of our same class. Not giving it much thought, I looked to the front where the professor just entered. Garry could wait till the end of the class. — this is important. This is the last time I am going to ask you readers to tell me if you want Valenie to end up with Rafe! comment please. I already have the whole book plotted but for that I need you all to tell me what you guys WANT! THANK YOU
